There's a creepier spider in South America. It is called the banana spider. When it bites you, the venom can kill, but almost as bad is the side-effect.

My mom grew up in Arizona & always had to check her shoes..Scorpions, centipedes, & black windows like dark, warm places, even in a desert

one of her relatives stepped on a centipede, & the centipedes legs dug into her feet..Took plyiers to remove them...
