Awesome music_4321! They look just like mine! Glad you're back in business!

You've replied to my post from 25th May! - So, been back in business 3 for nearly 3 months, really. Actually, unfortunately, it was 3 re-fits and a 4th and final set.

So, you also changed from Candy Blue to Ice Blue?

***Edited for ear pics, the first time I didn't have them inserted properly***

Just got them today. Fidelity Duals. So far I am loving the sound. I think I just need to get used to a weird flap on my ear that gets a little sore, then I will be in great shape!

I am using these for stage monitoring purposes with an Audio Technica M3 wireless in ear system, so I went for discretion with colors/design. In fact I think Fidelity just started shipping the beige cables...

That fit for your duals doesn't look very promising....it doesn't completely fill your concha

The red part DOES fill the concha - just the flesh colored cap is smaller than the rest of the IEM. But then again, he doesn't have the red part tucked into the concha either - they are in wrong?

Hmmmm, i guess you're right. my faceplate of ES3X covers the whole concha, there's no empty space. I didn't even realize he's wearing them wrong until just now

It looks like the flap on your ear is getting caught under the shell. Have you tried twisting them a little further to the back when inserting and then rocking them forward into place?

It just seems like the IEM doesn't sit good.

It looks like either the shell wasn't made properly, or he's not wearing them properly.

I say they probably didn't get made that well since over at the thread of Livewires California, there seems to be a big problem with quality and CS. So if he got these from California office...i wouldn't be surprised...

They fit and sound rather good.

Funny, just yesterday I was wondering if there was a German company that made customs and today I come across your post. Can you give us a little more information on these?

--What made you decide to get them?
--Number of drivers?
--Any more information on their sound signature?
--How did you hear about them?
--How do they compare to your UM3X or some of your full-sized headphones?
--Price?
--Have you got a link?

Let me split this up!

--What made you decide to get them?

Well, some people over at HIFI-FORUM: Hififorum fuer Audio, Hifi, High End, Musik, Stereo, TV, Surround und Heimkino und Car-Hifi were talking about them and compared them to some other top tier IEMs like ES3x, JH13, UE11 and quite a few universal IEMs and some customs I don't remember since I was looking at the top range. The conclusion was that all customs sound very good while the JH13 might be the best but each IEM has its own sound signature and quite a few felt the Stage 3 sounded more neutral or just liked them better. And if you read quite a lot from those people within several years, you get to know their taste and this led to ordering the demo versions of the Stage 2 and 3.
After a few days of happy listening I was pretty sure that the Stage 3 was enough for my needs.

--Number of drivers?

Three drivers, two ways with a passive crossover.

--Any more information on their sound signature?

Rather neutral, never lacking bass. They don't sound harsh or shrill but just the way I think the recording should sound like. It's rather difficult to describe the sound...

--How did you hear about them?

The before mentioned forum...

--How do they compare to your UM3X or some of your full-sized headphones?

They are better in every way than the UM3x. The don't lack deep bass and the highs are not as rolled off. More neutral and more extended to both extremes.
As you can see, I owned quite a few headphones and all of those big headphones sounded strange at times for me. E.g. the Stax SR-303 sounded rather shrill and was lacking bass, the DX1000 has way too much bass and rolled off highs, HD650 too dark, DT880 too much highs and slow bass... Well, I could go on like that
wink.gif

The HD600 was nice but still a bit too dark and the bass was a bit too much and after all, the resolution is not top notch.

--Price?

930 euro. The JH13 would cost 1085, ESX3x 1089 and the UE11 1098 euro. You might get them here or there for a little bit less.

--Have you got a link?

PS: I feel like making a seperate thread for this

Is it possible to move this here?

Many thanks for answering ALL my questions!

Yes, I think you'd better start a new thread with all info you've just given (me) and including the photos posted earlier.
