Burson V7 Classic Pro and V7 Vivid Pro - Hi-Fi audiophile solid-state op-amps

Just upgraded my Burson C3R from the V6Vs to the V7C. Really happy with the sound. I use a pair of OG Focal clears and found the original sound a bit thin and with a tad too much treble and a little metallic. The classics are more smooth, warm and richer. I do miss a little of the airyness and dynamics of the vivids but over all am much happier with the classics. Definitley worth the upgrade.

I have to hear the v7 classics yet, but having listened to the v7 vivids, and how big of a upgrade that was compared to the v6 vivids, I can only imagine they sound amazing.

I have heared the smooth soundings v6 classics, how do they compare?

Or get 2 SIL (Sonic Imagery Labs)992 (Singles) and 2 Sparkos SS2590 (Duals).
See:

Does someone have a nice explanation how to order sparkos in this configuration?

I have 2x V7 Vivid Dual and 2x V7 Classic Single in my Playmate 2 + Arya Stealth for a couple of months. But I found myself enjoying the music less. I tried to change them with stock ones, and found that this particular combo makes music less energetic and decrease the sound stage, despite adding a ton of resolution.

Now I'm thinking to get 2x V7 Vivid Single and 2x V7 Classic Dual to try all combination, but I don't think it worth it... Maybe better this combo?

For the PM2 I really enjoy 2x SI994 duals, and 2x Sparkos SS2590 singles. Here's that setup:

Two posts above that link a brave soul was able to get 4 Sparkos SS2590's into the PM2 which I bet sounds even better. I didn't dare try that though as that puts the op amps too close to touching the case for my comfort. If it was me I'd look at potentially putting in the 2 SS2590 singles along with your V7 Vivids. If the sound still isn't to your liking then the SI994's would be good to try instead of the V7's.

Is a single channel makes a lot of difference compared to dual? The Sparkos dual are 150 EUR each (plus expansion cables), which is quite expensive for an experiment. Maybe just get a Conductor GT4?

So for the Sparkos dual I need to get this one, plus Burson expansion cables, right?

Yes, 2 fully assembled adapter with two SS2590’s already soldered into it" or if you prefer to solder them yourself, you can have them a bit cheaper. And yes extensions from Burson. Not cheap, but it's a treat IMO.

Do we have anywhere a comparison between Playmate 2 and something like GT3/GT4? I'm thinking maybe just put money aside and get GT4 on some discounts. Looks like balance output can bring more energy. But definitely not a topic of this thread. Thanks!

Have no info about that comparison.
Getting GT4 seems a good option.
