I would buy one of these in a heartbeat...if it had an analogue input. I can see a way to play vinyl with it sadly.

You were right the twenty to thirty mark makes a big difference. Made a home made balanced cable for my Senn hd600 using two stock cables pulled them apart braided the four parts together presto changeo new cable with eight conductors instead of four works great with this amp. Running my Beyerdynamic A20 off the dac of the burson and using my T1 with the beyer amp never sounded better.

Looking at buying a Conductor 3R or 3P. Would I be short changed on sound quality if I go for a Performance version? I don't need a lot of power as my main audio gear are Sony EIR-Z1R and MDR-Z1R, along with Oppo PM-3 and Fostex THX-00. The price difference between 3R and 3P is $800 AUD. The 3XP is splitting the difference, so maybe go for that one instead? Thoughts?

You probalby wont hear a difference. The changes between P&R are mainly no analogue inputs, and single dac chip in Performance.
If you dont need a lot of power it is probably better to get 3P, but afaik there were some problems and Burson have sent 3XP units but not 3P yet. Correct me if I am wrong.
I went with 3XP, want to try balanced output :)

The 3XP and 3P are available to pre-order with the local representative here down under. I've got the list down to 3P and RME ADI-2 FS then... Decisions decisions... Do I show patriotism and get the burly Aussie or go for German precision and reliability? :)

In Switzerland you only get the 3R. No other versions, not even the X version and the 3P none at all! A pity. You have to order directly from Burson in Australia.

I'm not sure if I should order one in Australia. Would take the 3XP for my 2nd workstation. We'll see. Actually I have the iFi micro iDSD BL there and I am actually satisfied.

But I would like the XLR connection. I don't really need BT. Think about it again.

Has anyone heard the iDSD BL and the 3P? Are there any bigger audible differences? Is the upgrade worth it?
