Why do people like her music? Last time I saw one of her concert broadcasts on TV, I was really really really really really really nauseated after just a few minutes of listening.

I mean, what in the world was she singing? Can that even be called singing?

Don't get me wrong, I love 80's and 90's pop as much as anyone. But this "new age" stuff is really turning me off from pop.

Think of it this way, Spears is more of a product instead of an artist. She's on TV and selling albums because people buy it. Which really makes you sick when you think people decide to purchase anything by her...kinda makes you lose faith in humans. lol
I really don't like her in anyway and I hope everyone forgets her soon but I doubt that'll happen. I just don't get why people care about her and want to know everything about her.

I agree that the 80's and 90's pop is much better than current pop in almost every way. Such as life

Although she is pretty hot, she's 100% manufactured, 0% original.
Unless you count her record for being married in the shortest amount of time before getting a divorce.

Hey, everything’s good until you compare it to something better. Most of the kids that listen to Britney have never heard of the Beach Boys, Elton John, Chicago, Phil Collins, or even Madonna.

Well, I figured it would be a good choice sense Madonna was Britany’s idol. I happen to listen to a lot of 80’s Dance Pop like Prince, Duran Duran, Michael/Janet Jackson, and much more, and I’m sure the genre doesn’t appeal to everyone. However, on my behalf I believe every artist that I have mentioned is superior to anything Britney has done.

I know some of you old fogies seldom tear a rug on the dance floor but...Britney Spears actually produces some pretty decent dance music.

and from that day on everyone knew how he earned his nickname.

You can blame it TV/MTV, commercial radio, Madison, Avenue, the internet, etc., but the music market heavily culitvates fans in the 7-12 year-old range. I mean, there was always "bubble-gum music" but now those stars become megastars and huge commercial enterprises. They get so famous that even some adults become big fans. Go figure.

Well, I didn't think anyone would actually think about signing up

The point is, why come to Head-Fi and talk about Britney Spears when there's tons of more interesting musical conversations already going on that a person could contribute to, or new ones to start. If all you wanna talk about is pop culture, you can talk to anybody.
