I have been considering getting the Oyaide HPC-SE cable for my Shure SE 535 Red (Special Edition) that I purchased earlier this year.

However - I have now come across these Brimar Audio cables and am intrigued by these. Has anyone used them and can report back on the cable quality, sound quality and build construction?

Here are some links and pics of the two I am looking at:-

Brimar Audio Quantum SXC

Brimar Audio Monarch Cu V3

The Cu V3 is almost twice the price of the Quantum SXC cable but is supposed to offer better bass.

Look forward to hearing if anyone has used these cables and their impressions.

Thanks

No but as an owner of the SE535-J, I bought on OCC silver and an OCC SPC cables from Ted Allen at Headphone Lounge and he is a great craftsman who sells superior cables at very competitive prices. Headphone Lounge has a website and an appreciation thread on Head-Fi.

Would be interested to know what you got.

I listened to the SE535 with the Brimar Cu V3, coincidentally at Jet Live Audio, and was quite impressed with them.  The cable is quite hefty and I would wonder about how that would affect the pull on the ears whilst wearing.  Reason I didn't pick the cable up at the same time I got the 535SE is that I was in there getting some audio gear for my daughter's desktop and I already had the FiiO cable which is a nice pairing with the 535SE.

I didn't get anything, yet. The reason is I have not been back to Thailand since the last time I went to Jet Live Audio in March 2013. I wanted to audition them first.

I did audition the SE535 Ltd Red with the Oyaide HPC SE Red cable the last time I was there. It sounded very good.

Next time I go there I will listen to them again and in particular the Brimar Cu V3 appears targeted to SE535 Ltd Red.
