Wow.. I just now won an bid on ebay...AK100II should be here in next 3-4 days. Will be able to compare with X3 and also against PWD2 (desktop).
 
Does AK100II needs any burn-in, or it sounds same out of box?

No need for burn in. Definitely a step up from the X3 too. Still lovey X3, but ak100ii is a much nicer device.

just done a quick A/B, AK 100ii Track-Gotye state of the art 24/44 and iphone 4s same track downloaded from Tidal,phones used 
 
 Audio Technica ATH-W1000X,there was some talk there wasnt much of a step up,well to me the AK is in a different league regarding instrument separation, detail and with bass going deeper and  tighter the iphone sounds flat in comparison and not really suprised as I thought the Fiio x3 was better than the 4s,the AK100ii didnt wow me out of the box the way the X5 did,but it grows on you and with fine recordings and decent phones it is a splendid DAP,I also did a quick comparison between the IFI nano dsd using a Little Dot amp but its to close to call just yet.

excellent product,but more compatible for apple products,it used to work with my android phone(uapp only) but after the last update not so good,built very well and is a great dac and even better when paired with the ican.

That`s about what I paid last wknd in Tokyo, at a `Weekend Sale`.  
 
I would recommend to anyone who`s on the edge: do it.  You won`t regret it.  (coming from someone who basically expected to regret it)

That is how much I paid for mine from Beach as well. I Highly recommended the 120II over any other DAP I have ever heard to date. Also I picked up the Pelican 1030 case which the 120 fits in snugly, while allowing enough room for phone, cables, airline adapter and power plug.  The perfect travel rig.

Maybe it's over, was $1299. Yes, I just clicked, it's gone. They do have some for $1309 now, but that might be used. This is the second time I've seen a new AK for that price. Keep your eyes on Amazon guys, great deals to be had.
