BossHiFi B7/SIVGA SV005… or any “new” brands you may see on Amazon/ebay/aliexpress are actually same headphones from one China ODM. It’s probably the cheapest walnut headphone with very comfortable headband, huge ear pads and with quite decent sound quality… which make it a good MOD candidate.

Inspired by this post https://imgur.com/a/DXjnyqz, I’d start this thread to share my impression on B7 and the MOD experience with other dynamic drivers. Welcome to join me and share your MODs and brilliant ideas.

This is my impression BEFORE my MOD:
Fatigue: ~3/10. Low. It’s 320g and OK for hours music. Certain vocals can be a touch harsh and it sounds a base boost at ~100Hz.
Detail: 6.5/10 (if I rank Grado Music Series 1 as 8). It’s quite balanced with a bit of airyness. Right in the middle of the road. However, it loses details in very high treble, although in an acceptable level.
Soundstage/Imaging: 6/10. Small and just get the job done. It’s fine for music & general purpose. It's like HD600, except not God awful. It gets the job done.
Bass: ~5/10. You still can hear most of bass, it cannot dive that deep to massaging your ear canal. Bass texture/tone can be kind of muddy/blobby.
Noise/Volume: tested with my cell phone and hear no background noise at max volume
Comfort: ~8.5/10. It’s a warm hat :) You feel like real leather with the big earpads and headband. It does not clip your head very hard, even to person with a big head like me.
Overall Satisfaction: 6.5-7/10. You can get some decent and relaxed sound, but not really great bass. Kind of pity for a pair of giant 50mm drivers.

Hi, how is your project going? I saw more of your pictures of the mod, nice job.
I´m thinking about buying bosshifi B7 or B8

how about to put in a pair of drivers from FostexT50RP's?

I'm thinking about this for a while now. The Fostex drivers are so good!! And the Fostex headphone is super ugly! :-)

So B7 filled with Fostex T50RP's might be a good idea?
