I've been doing a lot of research and came to a decision to purchase the Bose IE2 ( 50% discount card) and have been looking into these. However, i am hearing that there are problems with the cord breaking and snatching early into their use. Any insights on what my chances are with these over a long amount of time?

I had the IE (first version) and the cable snagged often due to the absurd length combined with the horrid placement of the "authenticity chip" near the end of the cable. After two years of almost daily usage, a short developed in the left earbud. I went to the Bose Outlet store and they offered me a $50 trade-in to the IE2. That was only two weeks ago so I can't really comment on the durability yet. The design is much better with a shorter cable and no pod at the end. The decent customer service even with an expired warranty is also very nice.

What is their warranty system? Did you buy it or did it just come with it?
