the ring that holds the pad just clips on the headset. just get a small blade and pop one clip off. the rest should pop off after. There are 4 of them.
First just pull the pads off, just pull on side and they should slide off, then pop the ring off the clips.

ok, ill try that when i get home. First pull the swishy pad off, THEN take the plastic ring off, got it.

Another question is, how do you put the phones in standby mode? If i press the MF button once they sometimes shut off, but will start playing music again within a few seconds. Whats up with that?

I have a iPhone , quick press the MF once to turn on, then quick press to start playing, then quick press to pause music. Holding the MF button shuts off the unit. Press the up & down volume buttons at the same time changes the eq presets, normal , bass, and more bass.

What do you mean by phone in standby mode?

ah ok, I have an android, seems the controls work with the proprietary player but not with Winamp, which I was using! Does anyone have a specific player they can recommend? Problem with the prop. player is it cant handle certain filetypes, which means it will stop playing completely when it plays on random. Then you have to go to the phone to start it again. winamp can play most filetypes but at the cost of pausing and playing.

Any solution to pairing with multiple units, ie without having to pair qnd repair every time?

Oh, I had trouble, the USB socket broke.
Thus collapsed contact pins to which he was soldered.
This happened when earphones fell from table, when connected with USB cable to laptop.
When I disassembled earphones it turned out that the socket is very unreliable fixed (there is a small rocking) because of it there is a high probability that contacts of the connector will come off PСB if even not strongly to shake connected to it cable.
To repair a broken socket it is necessary to glue it to the plastic case of earphones and to connect to PСB flexible wire.
To avoid breakage of the socket it would be necessary to fill space around of the socket with thermoglue, it will strengthen it on the place.

what's inside...

I am a complete novice.. With a Sony MDR 10rbt under my belt, and was getting ready to chunk out almost 4 large for the cool looking Beats Studios.  That was before I looked a some youtube vids.. The Beats by a lot of opinions are overprice. The youtube reviews of these were all GOOD.. I ordered two pair from Amazon..

Any more findings on those Bluedios?

Timoat, I am 74, and believe or not, I look like a cast member of Star Trek.. :) My two pair come today. Silver and red. I was giving the red to my wife, but the red is more me. I will have to order another pair if she wants them. On the aptX, sure hope I can get that going, because I have been using my Sony MDR 10RBT which has aptX, and my both my Samsung Notes have aptX. The sound is awesome..
