What tips are people using with the BL-03? I've just got a pair, and because of the short nozzle, I don't think I'm getting a decent seal with any of the silicone tips that have worked well for me with other IEMs.

I've tried:
BLON Stock tips of various sizes
Azla Sedna
Azla Xelastec
SpinFit CP240 double-flange
SpinFit CP100

About the only thing that seems passable so far are the white foam tips that come with Tin T2 Plus. I can get a bit more bass response, but the seal is not good at all...

I manage to get an airtight seal with Sednaearfit Light ML... with some difficulty. I assume it would be easier with the L size instead if I had it. The easiest to fit so far have all measured 14mm or somewhere around that.

Azla SednaEarfitLight (the regular version, not the short one).

Hmmm, I’ve tried the regular Sedna Earfit, wouldn't the light ones be same size or fit?

Other than using longer nozzle ear tips, eg Spinfit CP100, CP 145, you can consider doing spacer mods, or a KZ eartip reverse mod:

Spacer mods here if you are interested (pics included, credit to these folks), YMMV:

Slater's reverse KZ starline mod: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/flip-tips-prepare-to-have-your-mind-blown.906357/ (credit to Slater).

The BLON's stock 2 pin cable is quite stiff at the earhooks, so sometimes it yanks the IEM out of the ear. If u are adventerous, u can cut the plastic earhooks open or use a hairdryer to mould the earhooks to your preferred fit.

Some even wear the BLON cable down (swap the earpieces) after cutting the plastic earhooks (which is what I do to get a better fit). Or use an aftermarket cable that isn't so stiff at the earhook.

Lots of hoops to run thru to secure a good fit, but the effort is worth it. Very good tonality and timbre at this price once fit is good. Though aftermarket tips and cables might add to the costs.

KZ starlines work fine for me without flipping.
I received them the same day as my BL03 put them straight on and all was good. Made me wonder what all the fuss was about with fit issues!

Thanks much for the summary of all those mods, I didn’t realise what I was in for with the BLON For 25USD, i can’t really complain.. :smile_phones:

Seems like it will be worth it, though, as I can start to hear their goodness with those Tin T2 foams.

Light: same size and fit, but softer.
Short: same size, shorter stem (not compatible with the short nozzle of the BL03).

I use Newbee foams on all my iems for a great fit. With the 03's, I cut off a couple of pieces off the stems off of the supplied silicones (small size, since I'll never use them anyway) and put them over the short stems of the 03. Then, I fitted my large size Newbee foam tips over those extended stems. Result: my preferred tips fit over the extention snugly; and I get great fit, isolation and comfort. I also added a KBEAR RHYME 2.5mm balanced cable to it, to take advantage of my balanced dac/amps. With these simple mods; my purple 03 is the most comfortable (and great sounding) iems I currently own.

I took someone else's idea, using an o-ring as a spacer/shoulder for the tips. But I didn't have spare o-rings from my mechanical keyboard handy. So I purchased a small bag of silicone o-rings from Amazon

uxcell Silicone: 4mm x 8mm x 2mm

I use Newbee foams on all my iems for a great fit.

Silicone o-rings and NewBee foams ordered.

Now all I need is a 2.5mm balanced 2-pin cable, and I will have spent 2-3x what the BL03 cost on accessories!!

Will be worth it though, as I am really enjoying them so far at my desk with the Asgard3, great bass with strong mids/treble without being over the top. They're a bit loose in spots, but for the $ paid they are fine. All I need is to get that seal right for use out-and-about with my DAP and I'll be pretty happy.
