Good enough for most is not exactly the headfi crowd though....when taking about sound quality.
Who do you think the "headfi crowd" is though? 50+ year olds listening to classical music?
I'm 33 years old, for the most part listen to underground House & Techno. Does that mean I'm not part of the typical headfi crowd?

I am not sure what you mean by your comment. All I meant was that if someone is into audio enough to join an online forum discussing it they most likely want pretty good sound, not just good enough sound.

It's not a diss or anything. it's like if I went on to a car forum I would assume that people there would want the best driving experience they could get not just one that's a good enough. Hence why they are into the hobby in the first place.

My initial comments were around the change in people's preferences, with equipment & sound quality. There is a world outside of the headfi crowd, which I think some on these forums tend to forget - Prime example of not realising the change in preference to BT.

Oh yes I agree. I don't blame people for valuing portability over sound especially when that sound is still very good. I actually just ordered the TRN 5.0 Bluetooth cable for my blon bl03s. Excited to see how it sounds.

Science lesson for the day: Cellulose is a polysaccharide, and not a protein.... Human hair is largely composed of a protein called keratin...

Yes, cellulose is some sort of plant fiber. It’s also sometimes called “biocellulose” or “bio-fiber” or just “fiber” diaphragm by some companies.

Shoutouts to tgx78 for the EQ settings for my BL-03, although my version is slightly modified to account for a not so great filter mod... I'm still learning how to use this thing but working great so far.

Just got my bl01 yesterday and been listening to it. I am liking the sound of it, a little bit more forward mid and a bit more mid treble harshness on high volume. The bass is tighter but still has the body of bl03 which I love. Technicality and detail are improved also but still can't beat multi BAs iem tho for $26, it is pretty darn good. Timbre is also good, everything sounds natural. I am using it for live sound monitoring right now and it is pretty good. It is still a fun sounding iem just like its older brother bl03.

This BL01 is a little bit harder to drive. I am using my TRN BT20s pro and I need to get to 80% volume on my PC to get the same loudness as my KZ ZAX.

That's expected, the BLON BL-01 has a lower sensitivity (102dB/mW) vs the 113 dB/mW in the KZ ZAX. BLON BL-01 does scale quite a lot when amped compared to a low powered source.

Jumped the band wagon and got a pair of BL01 and must say that I’m absolutely amazed at what can be had for $22 including shipping, both build quality and sq. I can’t use any of the stock tips but they are brilliant with Xlastec large. Only fail is the lack of a chin slider on the stock cable, might get another of the Linsoul I’m using on my other iem’s. Is the 2-pin plug on these what is known as QDC ?

No, it’s referred to as TFZ or NX7 plug.

QDC is different, and not compatible.

No. It is a TFZ or NX7 type connector. Or, you can use a standard 2 pin plug.
