I meant - take the cable out of the working one and plug it into the non working one - if it syarts working it is your cable that is borked and your IEMs are fine. Still mighty annoying.

I've tried reversing and it works. The problem then should be the cable as you suggested.

I don't have it at home and neither does Hosa Deoxit. Is it possible to use anything else?

I adapted a KZ cable by cutting the protective sheath and releasing the 2 pins, it works perfectly. Provisional solution pending the ordered cable which should arrive between Monday and Tuesday.

I also cut the sheath that forms the headband and now the cable no longer tends to pull the iems out of the ears but is stable.

I’ve only ever used Deoxit Hold for years. One can will pretty much last your entire life, so it’s a no brainer.

I got the perfect seal with about 2 mm o-ring at the base - actually I just cut out a small piece of a KZ starline M too small for my ears - and KZ starline flip tips size L. This way I also get a perfect isolation.

So I don't have the proper cotton sheet...


So I used toilet paper in the meantime. As far as I can tell is sounding less upper mid/treble forward with this paper while air restriction is insignificant.

Although I imagine this is only a substitute until I can buy the real thing.

Edit: Should this filter be as tall as the nozzle itself? I think I made mine 1mm short of covering the entire nozzle height.

Just ordered some. Can't wait to enjoy a magnetic bass experience, though arguably all my bass experiences have been magnetic... and that's me for chi fi until all my sets break again, hopefully with the six sets i've bought in the last two months that will be a ways off.

Unless someone else releases another mother of all bang for buck giant of giant killers... So next purchase in a fortnight then.
