Still loving mine (bl-03) with pure silver cable and the e1da s9038. I EQed down little bit of mid bass and bumped up 5khz slightly to emphasize stringed instruments and find it so enjoyable.

I think I mentioned this before but mine spikes at 5kHz and 10kHz again if i remove the mesh and don't use my Dekoni Bulletz.

In the case of the Starfield (as explained by Moondrop themselves), the painted shells are ones that had surface defects with the polishing and/or electroplating. Instead of just scrapping them, they painted them.

From my own manufacturing experience, this is a completely logical and well known method to salvage parts that would otherwise end up being junked.

I guarantee this is the case with these painted BL-03, and is also the case with the new BL-05 MK2 shells that are painted mint green.

That’s why they couldn’t make the nozzle longer. The painted shells are from the normal BL03 production runs.

It’s a old saying that “paint hides a multitude of sins”.

My BL-03 shipped with a scratch on the faceplate, so I assume imperfections like this is what that kind of painting is for.

Anyone know how to add memory shrink wrap to a cable? I love my blons, and dont mind the stock cable however I have a really nice 16 core cable that I can not use with the blons because when looping it over and behind my ear the cable just falls to the side.

I actually ordered those, however I think the thicker 16core cable will most likely be too big to fit inside.

Anyone know how to reduce the bass quantity and decay on 03? I don't like to do some eq stuff, it messed the detail and I feel like something is missing on a song. Did burn in process will make something different? It's my 2nd time owning a blon 03 and Its still the same sounding iem's.

Because I already love the natural timbre on this iem's just as final e5000 that I sold to upgrade my main iem..

I would try the mesh mod that slater told us about. Changing tips to a wide bore tip like the azla or jvc spiral dots might work too. Otherwise If you use EQ correctly and with a good EQ (like the one in the Neutron player) it shouldnt affect the sound much if all you need is reduced bass quantity.

If you have a good PEQ, low shelf cut will be still the best option.
You could also block this tiny vent by the cable connector to see if reduced air flow might change the bass quantity.

I'm using eq on fiio music player (fiio m11) and i still not satisfied.
What is the mesh mod?
How about removing the filter ? I see someone remove the filter on bl03. Thanks
