Black or silver components?

Silver is my current choice. If you would have asked me 2 months ago I would have said black

I like brushed silver or cold/flat black. Sony black & silver units don't look as attractive to my eye. I really like the front face of components like the Music Hall CD-25 -- silver with simple elements.

That's not a minidisc player under the Rotel is it? Looks like the slot to the left is about that size...

That is a Sky+ receiver, which is digital satellite with a built in hard disk for recording. The slot is for some card or other, but I am not sure cos I aint never used it.

I used to want silver components when all we had in the US was black. Now that silver is the rage, having more to do with the explosion of plasma TV sales, I want black.

I guess it depends on the component. I like many of the silver 70s components.

I miss those top-of-the-line components with the wood panels on the sides. Not that I can afford any of them.
