I tried the Elite and was just underwhelmed hooked up w my pixel 4 and cb18 the stage was lacking and just too neutral. Maybe the source makes all the difference. Questyle CMA18P took care of these issues providing a full musical warmness with big stage and spot on technicals. Also draws 0 power from phone. It's been a "where have you been my whole life" moment on every listen since I got it months ago with my Plussound Tri silver x 🎶🎶 🌅

It could be the Pixel 4 didn't allow enough power to flow. I've got a one plus 12 and I really am stunned by the Elite. Try it on a PC.....

Yes that mustve been it.
I find it quite interesting these Xelentos going for 150-200 on eBay. What a time we live in. I mean I heard the 64audio stuff like all of them at the booth and after a bit with each I just got bored of there warm musical approach. I was trying too act interested....I would take Xelento over any of them if there was a gun too my head saying pick one of these and the fit is just the cherry on top, it's by for the best 4g per if only they were all like this man !!! What a magnificent invention from our German friends in 2016

No, It can definitely be opened up furrher. My Goto for the Xelento is the Liquid Links Wetlake or Evua. I have pretty much just stuck with the Westlake for the last few months. It's a thicker cable but still flexible and pliable, looks great with the Xelento and brings better separation in lower end and fills out the midrange. https://www.mestudiobiz.com/products/liquid-links-westlake

What blew me away, however was pairing the Xelnto up to the iBasso DC Elite. I'm a DAP guy never a dongle guy - but the Elite has changed that. The Xelentos are completely transformed with the DC Elite. The soundstage widens, and the whole sounscape gets way better resolution.
Thanks!
Honestly, I don't feel the need for more resolution, but rather a bit more warmth?
Xelento sounds very good, clear, detailed, nothing wrong but somehow the sound just doesn't move me too much.

I have the Xelento OG and found some tips a couple days ago that completely remove 5k and 8k peaks. The sound is absolutely smooth and linear in the upper end. These are the only tips that were able to do it for me 100%.
Now the Xelento sound like they sound with the EQ corrections.
The problem is that I don't know what's the name of these tips is as they were some spare tips from a couple years ago.
So I ordered Divinus Velvet Wider Bores yesterday because they seem to have a very similar design. Will report how the Divinus sound when they come.

Im running Divinus Velvet on my Xelento 2. They're awesome. Very comfortable, great seal, no driver flex, smooth yet articulate up top with no peaks or sibilance and keeping the romantic mids. Love 'em

I dont think it makes sense because the Divinus Velvet Wide Bore sound even better, so you can go stright to them.
Compared to these spare tips i mentioned, the Velvets sound ever so slightly smoother, with more articulated and textured bass and definitely wider.
Velvets Wider Bore are the best sounding tips with the Xelento OG ive ever heard.

Bought these tips months ago and hadn't tried them yet. Trying them now on the Xelento gen 2... very good. Great tip!

What always worked for me, with the original cables was turning the curved part of the connector until the angular part was pointing to your sides and not your front. At least for me, this always helped them stay with a good seal, no matter what tips I was using.

How long to burn in?
I am a new owner of a Xelento Gen 2. Up to now I really enjoyed my FiiO FDX. I bought an iBasso D16 which is extremely linear, it pairs quite well with the FDX. But the combination also reveals not so good recordings. The combination then lacks of sub and mid bass. That's why I ordered the Xelento.

I am burning them in and testing right now. But the bass seems to be a bit too much for me. First I used the smallest tips that would seal, and the bass was almost unbearable. I changed to one size larger tips, and that reduced the bass a bit, as they ar not so deep in the ear canal anymore. But it is still too much. The mids and highs are quite similar to the FDX, what I really enjoy.

Now the question: What is your experience, how long do the Xelentos need to burn in? Will the process clean up the bass? The FDX needed more than 150 hours to get perfect.

Burn in doesnt exist in DD and BA drivers. Xelentos will not change even after 100000 h, they will sound like they sound stright out of the box.
