can you explain to me is a driver flex.
When you insert the iem into your ear, the the pressure created by the seal causes the membrane to move, flex and sometime crackle and pop. And it's not limited to when you insert them. I=n my case the flex appeared everytime I moved my jaw. Where flex exists, it can be a minor non issue or it could be a major problem

I purchased a used pair in the classifieds that had left side flex like you are describing. I couldn’t even move without hearing the ping. It’s a shame because these are wonderful sounding iems. I returned mine to the seller because the flex wasn’t disclosed. I would love to buy another set but a warranty is required with these and full retail is too much for me anyway.

I may, may, just have a brand new set for sale. Still thinking about it but could be convinced to let them go.

As for wireless, instead of getting the Beyer Wireless unit which adds $250 to the price and only supports up to apt HD why not get a Radstone ES100, a BTR3 or the new Shanling UP2.
Completely agree. The Beyer BT dongle is mediocre, in terms of sound, ergonomics, and value. The Xelentos sound better from either the ES100 or the BTR3.

I haven't heard the ES100 but have both the BTR3 and UP2. I loved the BTR3 until I heard the UP2. The new shanling is awesome. Tons of clarity, detail, bass and driving power. I sold the BTR3

Arrgh! We'll see how easy the warranty exchange is after all. Beyerdynamic said to ship them the Xelento (obviously paying shipping & insurance out of pocket) - and when they get a Xelento Wireless in stock again (no estimate of time), then they'll send me a new set. I asked if I could just exchange the drivers and they said I had to send the all components and accessories in the original box. What?! I waited for over a year until the Wireless were released; hopefully it's not another year waiting for them to be in stock again.

BTW, I do own the BTR3, ES100, and the latest Shure BT cable. I had hoped the Xelento Wireless cable would have been better, but it's only so-so.

It was the same here. I send back everything and I assume a whole new set is coming.

Thats too bad the adapter isnt great. Would love for Fiio to come up with a really great BT adapter with ldac and Bt 5. I know they have a crap one out, but with m11, and bow m11 pro, btr5, and so on, they seem to be on a roll.

@holsen, I'm still interested. Let me know if you want to let it go. I'm a bit of a beyer fanboy and this would complete the collection for me.

My replacement Xelento arrived much sooner than expected - and knock on wood, there’s no sign yet of driver flex (whereas my previous ones had it from day 1).

I’m curious why some of them have it and some don’t. I’m hoping that Beyer fixed the design flaw, though I’m skeptical.

Received my Xelento Remote a few days ago. The first impression was actually meh. They surely are more fun than my T90s, especially in terms of bass. But it was a bit too much and I noticed some sibilance in upper midrange which I can't hear in T90s (and they're notorious for their peaks). T90s just sound more open and live (expectedly) but I feel Xelento's detail retrieval is better.
I usually use medium-sized silicone eartips for earphones, but for Xelento, they were too small, so I tried large eartips instead for some days. This time the isolation was superb, but they were not that comfy. I finally decided to use red/gray eartips from my damaged FiiO EX1 2nd Gen and guess what, the sibilance disappeared, the bass quantity decreased and they are now absolutely comfy.
