LOL ... Guess so. As a fanatical cable believer though, I have to wonder if all this insulation doesn't slightly hamper openness and transparency. Guess we will know eventually, once someone gets a chance to see what a nice re-cable can do.

As mentioned, I would be careful wrt to a braided cable upgrade. They are typically very microphonic. For interconnects they are ideal as they don't move, but headphone cables are a totally different beast.

How can isolation kill soundstage and openness from a cable... Does the cable get isolation resonances like a closed headphone get cup resonances or what is the theory ;)

Study dielectric properties and skin effect for the theories. I'd rather not mess up this very nice thread with cable discussions.

Does anyone have a T1 in the bay area? I'd love to A.B them to my DT48A/S/E models.

I'm also interested in hearing one of these in a more personal setting.  I think you should organize a BA mini meet, ill bring my K400 and K340!

Hey, people! I just wanted everyone to know that I haven't forgotten about the thread; I've started writing the next part of the review and should be ready to post it some time tomorrow, but right now I need to get some sleep from all of the 11+ hour days I've been working lately.

Cables carry electricity, not sound as most people seem to think with these so called "upgrade cables" and saying things like larger gauge will increase sound quality.

Thanks for the initial impressions of my dream headphone! On an unrelated note I second Downsize's hopes about this thread not turning into a cable-science fight

Yeah, but imagine doing it for about $100 dollars / month

Anyway, I was out working until 3:30 AM today; just got back. I did manage to squeeze in time to shoot the pictures for the next part of the review, but it doesn't look like the update is going to be happening today. The good news is, tomorrow should be the last of these really packed days, after which I should be back to a more sane schedule and I should be able to do the update. Thanks for waiting patiently!

I've never understood the issue with microphonics on stationary headphones. I sit still and listen in my easy chair .... There is no microphonics when you sit still.

Some cables are so bad, you literally can't turn your head or adjust your self in your chair without hearing the effects. I do find it rather annoying.
