It's hard to find any info on the T51p. I wonder if everyone is apprehensive because of the T50p's reputation?

Very nice! I look forward to hearing your impressions. I've been on the fence between the T51p and the DT 1350.

Hurrah! At last somebody has shown interest in the new T51p product.

I have the DT1350 and I don't like it, but I don't dislike it either. I'm hoping the T51p is going to right where I like it.

Good grief! The T51P would not be for me then. I find the DT1350 the warmest most bass heavy of all my headphones bar the Victor FX500's

I can't imagine a need for more bass it would just sound overblown and distorted. I feel the present DT1350 has the mix just about right at this price point.. But then again, I am not a bass head listening to MP3 files

Yes, same to me. Sometimes I really like my M-100 with its very prominent bass, but most of the time I prefer the DT1350 sound signature... its just right for my taste. The M-100 is more comfortable to me though.

They position the T51p as a consumer product of course, while the DT1350 caters to a different audience. We seem to fall into that latter category I guess

I know the person whom it belongs to. He works at Beyerdynamic and got his colleagues to fit him a custom cup (out of the T50p customization program), otherwise its a stock DT1350 (so no sound differences according to him). Nevertheless a nice looking variant...

Really,

he explained all the differences to me and those definitely made a sound difference. But who cares really, we won't get to buy it anyway
