Bold statement to say you don't consider the T1 anymore in the T1 topic
The mmx-300.2 is darned good though!
The mmx-300.2 is darned good though!
I think that will be a wise choice!
That says something about the T1.3 and I totally agree. I could see that happening to myself one day...I have two systems in two different locations and after a few weeks with the T1.3 I sold all other headphones (except Aventho for traveling) and got a second pair of T1.3 for the other system. Once you get used to the sound of the T1.3 my other headphones didn't sound right anymore... and I was a die hard fan of T90 and T1.1. The T1.3 is so musical and the soundstage depth and precision is exceptional.
What do you mean? It start to rattle like old dt990?Bass does distort at high volumes, higher than I would ever have it, but just putting it out there
I dont have t1.3 but i had dt990 and T1.1I got this from hifi guides, it is a reply from beyer regarding what I experienced“If this only occurs during heavy bass notes, then the drivers are distorting as they are not designed to replicate low frequencies at higher volumes, especially those that happen suddenly. They are not defective if there is no other distortion."
I am using the Kann Alpha which produces a lot of power.
I was listening to lose yourself to dance, and at my normal listening volume levels the bass is fine, but I cranked it up just to see if it could handle more, and then the bass started to distort, the slam of the bass started to sound like a crunch, only kept it there for a split second then back down to my usual volume, has anyone else noticed this at high volumes? I will stress that the volume was very high, I could probably only stand a couple of minutes like that
Yes my thinking was that it is the amount of power my dap can produce, I did have it on mid gain, perhaps I'll keep it on low gain from now on, my hd650 can go to high gain balanced with the volume about half way, super loud and absolutely no distortion at allI dont have t1.3 but i had dt990 and T1.1
Dt990 had that or kinda similar problem, but T1.1 never had that.
This is my theory, but i think this is what happens: many headphones are not designed to handle a lot of power and will run into a that problem like that since bass require a lot more power.
Never had that problem with hd800S, t1.1 or HD8 DJ even at very loud levels since all those headphones can handle a lot of power.
Makes sense, but if these headphones can go 124db loud then you would be probably deaf 1st, before you hear something bad...Yes my thinking was that it is the amount of power my dap can produce, I did have it on mid gain, perhaps I'll keep it on low gain from now on, my hd650 can go to high gain balanced with the volume about half way, super loud and absolutely no distortion at all
On the Lyr 3 on high gain I wasn’t really able to get the T1.3 to distort in the bass. I would try it on more devices to see if it’s just how the headphone plays with the dap or it could be the lack of a constant power supply. I have spent most listening time with the T1.3 on desktop amps, don’t have much experience with it on portable devices.Yeah am still getting it but obviously not as bad and nearly at maximum volume on low gain.
At normal listening volumes the bass is lovely, higher volumes than I would usually listen it is still ace, it's only when it is not at a comfortable level it's distorts.
For me it's not an issue, but for some it may be
I want to say the bass is bloated like the dt1770 without the sub bass rumble. The first 30min was excessive. after a few hours you get used to it, but still strong and present. The added clamp is lighter than the dt1990, but is still strong. The dt1990 with balanced pad was somewhat fatiguing with the bass and the clamp, I feel about the same of the t1.3nd.Is the T1.3 close to the DT1990 Pro?
Had both the DT1990 Pro and the T1.2 at the same time, low end was fun on the DT1990 but it was fatiguing giving headache too often.
Also I guess you miss out on the tube fun with the new T1.3, or for the better so you don't use so much on tubes![]()
