Then I'd save the money on upgrade cables. Personally I've never managed to hear a reliable difference in cables and I agree with the others, the Beyer cable is nicely made. The Beyer cable has a pretty high capacitence, the Forza is eventually lower, but any audible effects are debatable. The Beyer engineers usually know what they are doing and I guess they had a reason to build the cable that way.
The plugs are just a great design, they fit so snuggly.

Same for me. And yes, the original cable is of very good quality.

Beyerdynamic offers good cable Quality. For my DT1990 I buy'd a 1.8m short cable too. I sit very close to the headphone amp. The original 3m cable are to long for me and I don't like coiled cables.

the only thing i dont like about the original cable, is its too long for me. 3mts and it tangles like no other. i have a 2mtr palladium cable on the way.

Yes, 3m was a bit much for me as well when I had the T1.2, but I already owned their T5.2 cable with 1.2m which fit my mobile setup better.
Cables with sheeting need careful treatment... once tangled its almost impossible to get them straight again. But due to their more stiff nature they should be easier to coil without kinks.

Does anyone have a suggestion for earpads that would make the T1 sound more expansive, with an improved soundstage if that's possible?
I tried every combination of Dekoni pads plus T1.1, T1.2 and T1.3 pads... with and without the foam insert discs. My favorite combination is the Dekoni Elite Velour pads WITH the foam insert discs. Compared to stock T1.3 pads I get a slight brighter sound, with a bit less bass, wider soundstage while retaining the 3D imaging and great depth.

Just listening to the John Davis remaster of Led Zeppelin's Houses Of The Holy via the Merging Anubis and the Beyerdynamic T1 Gen. 3 - the T1.3 is a fantastic headphone. All the power of Zeppelin with speed, dynamics and bass where and when it should be. I still think that the Harman curve isn't right.
Acoustic instruments sound about right to me - i.e. as per real life. Acoustic guitars have the right bottom end, which is unusual in headphones - they usually sound rolled off in the bottom end. Voices have excellent micro- and macro-dynamics, as does almost anything else.
You certainly need to get used to the sound however - once you do, most phones sound wrong afterwards.

I have the Beyer T1 Gen 3. and its easy to drive, and has plenty of bass.. (with PC gaming, best headphones ive experienced and ive tried a ton of them )i wanted to get a Gen 2 to compare, so thats on the way. the build quality/design/ aesthetics seem better on the Gen 2... ill see how it compares once here. ill turf that stock 3mtre cable as its too long... getting a 2mtr made up.. i also need some of those dekoni pads for both, not that the stock velour is not comfortable, it is.... but sonically most likely better with the dekonis.

I've already tested some of Oratory1990's equalizer presets on other headphone models, and they were wonderful. However, this one for the Beyerdynamic T1.3 was terrible in every way imaginable. The sound became so distorted, hollow, and lifeless that it felt like I had lost half of my hearing.

Still loving this headphone - it just feels tonally right at any volume and has the bottom end and the slam that you always knew was in the music. However, and most importantly, if the bass isn't there, this phone doesn't make everything sound bassy. I'll say it again - it's a triumph compared with the T1 Gen. 2.
