How are the Dekoni Elite Volour pads? I read a lot of people say they even out the high frequencies....was debating picking up a pair.
There's only one source for that: DIYAudioHeaven.com based on his one freq scan. I've read several responses saying that they don't change much. Dekoni's own Freq Chart says they are still spiky. Also some say they did, but I think it's just placebo.

What is everyone using for an amp for their 1990? I'm in the position to upgrade. I'm currently using the MCTH which I really like. I'm not sure if I should just stay there or try a tube amp out. The Bottlehead Crack seems pretty neat but I'm not sure how it will pair with the 1990s
I’m using a Crack with mine at the moment, lovely pairing.

I play Cod and Battlefield with the balanced ones and they work great. The analytical are much more comfortable for long periods though.
Nice to see people are using these headphones for gaming too. Those so called "gaming" headphones looks so silly and sound quality are probably crap too.

When my 1990 shows up in the mail, it will be paired with my SMSL M8A V3 DAC (ES9038Q2M DAC Chip), and my Audio-GD C-2 2017 Edition headphone amp. This should make for an excellent pairing. This amp has huge power, and a completely neutral sound signature. I highly recommend it. Just look at the power output on this puppy.

9900MW / 25 ohm
8000MW / 40 ohm
3500MW / 100 ohm
1200MW / 300 ohm
600MW / 600 ohm
Damn. are their amps really powering in megawatts and not milliwatts?

Their website doesn't look like it's been updated for quite a while.

That was milliwatts. It is a rather powerful amp though. 9 watts for 25ohm impedance is tons. My Amiron Home headphone is quite loud at only 25 on the volume on this amp on high gain. On low gain, the amp goes from 0 to 100 on the volume. On high gain, it goes from 0 to 63.

Just got my DT-1990 Pro from my HHGregg Google Shopping order. I am concerned though because the outside box arrived opened - the tape was clearly cut. The item itself appears to be okay - I noticed the bottom of the box is orange. I am debating contacting HHGregg about a replacement since Google only offers returns. Any thoughts on how I can test them to ensure they function properly?

Is taping a new thing with the latest versions or did you box have tape on it? All of the Beyers I ever purchased brand new weren't wrapped or taped in anything. They were all pull tabs
