I accidently blew the drivers out of my DT 1990 Pro and they are out of warranty so i decided to fix it myself (and make it better maybe?).
This will be my first major headphone project so i will be needing help along the way.

First things first

Selecting the driver:
I am looking to get a warmer sound sig than stock and want a driver that can really make them rumble in the low end.

Would either of these be suitable?

I also want to rewire them as balanced while i was at it.

Why not repair with genuine Beyerdynamic drivers? They include the surround and will be much easier to install. They were also designed for the enclosure size. Simply dropping in random drivers will provide a high likelihood of disappointment... just like you wouldn't throw a pair of speaker drivers in a random-sized box and expect good things.

The 4 pin mini XLR looks like a decent switchcraft clone, I assume it's the same size and would fit, but personally I would just buy a genuine switchcraft for a couple bucks more and call it a day.

Why not repair with genuine Beyerdynamic drivers?

I cant seem to buy DT1990 drivers anywhere.
