Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

Which pads are the best for classical music? Beyerdynamic balanced, analytical or Dekoni (which one in the Dekoni's range?)?
I preferred the Analytical for classical and acoustic music. Balanced for rock or big badaboom tunes. On acoustic instruments the boosted upper bass of the Balanced pads sounds unnaturally unbalanced.

I'm now using Dekoni Velour with a foam backing ring similar to the Analytical pads to cover some of the venting. The Dekoni Velour tames the 8k peak a bit, but have slightly warmer low mids and far more comfortable than the Analytical pads. The Goldilocks option for me.

Agreed, I use the Velours on my set too.

I also compared the two. I didn't love the Amiron, it had a way of being beautiful with one song and then sounding soft and hot at the same time with many others. Amiron also doesn't work for anything rock related since it's so soft. There's little energy behind it. Some will love this, I didn't. Super comfy and light though

You don't need one. Any small player is able to drive them.

Yes, but not very loud, I bottom out any of my audio interfaces without reaching the desired level if wanting to play loud. I even need to use high gain on my powerful headphone amp.

edit. listening to Linda Ronstadt Essentials on Tidal right now, these cans most definetely shines on Classic Rock. No harshness at all just great sound, modern recordings can sound too sharp because the peak, but it makes you wonder if it's largely the recordings which is at fault .....
