I think i go back to the Elite Velour for now, the Elite Hybrid are awesome for Metal etc., but overall i like the Velour one more without EQ.
Also really thinking about getting the RME ADI 2 DAC FS for home and using the M200 + SP200 at work.
Got also the adi 2 its a very nice device

I am listening right now. Love this setup more and more from day to day

I would recommend to buy the adi from thomann 30 days return policy and 3 years warranty

Some how today i prefer this setup without eq and sometimes with eq

This is my selfmade eq. I also saved the one from otoraty1990 what brings the 1990 to harman curve you can see below

What is the consensus on how to tame the treble peaks on this? Peace GUI eq? Dekoni pads, other?
Dekoni pads help a bit not Graph wise. its just 1DB taming thru the elite velour. They tame it mostly because your Ear sits furter away from the Driver. You can also tame it with peace gui. 8350hz Qfactor 3.5. set it down to your liking. you can also insert tone tuning foam under you pads.

if you are not a very loud listener the trebler is anyway no problem and you can also get used to the treble. if you are a very loud listener these headphones anyway will kill you ears anyway with bass mids and treble. they are kind of aggressiv

Personally to me it wasnt a issue but before i had the 1990s i had the 990s and now im actually running hd 800s so i guess im not really sensitive to treble
Nice observation...Kinda brain burn in. Your brain is getting used to it and becoming less sensitive.

It really could be that tbh, but I also never looked at response graphs before buying those headphones so it also helped that it wasnt something i was out and looking around for. The only time your probably really gonna have any issue with it imo is when people have videos or stuff with poorly made audio where that sibilience might actually be noticeable but these headphones are a really fun pair of headphones imo and if i had the money i would own a pair of them and hd 800s but sadly its just not in my budget :frowning2:

DT990 and DT770 are on my list here to try, but I'm without a proper amp. my current amp is my home theater receiver. DT1990 suffers a bit with it.

Thanks for the specific settings, I will give that a try, I am not a loud listener. But I do find that I can listen to my 660s for much longer, I just assumed that was the treble, maybe its everything...

If you have 800S what makes you want the 1990's as well? I am reading that you had the 1990 at one point, what do you miss about them? I am actually considering going all in and getting the HD800S. I love the Sennheiser sound, but hate the soundstage on the 660s to small. My perfect headphone would be 599 comfort, 1990 bass and soundstage, 660s everything else.

Just ordered my own RME ADI 2 DAC FS at Thomann.
Since my custom headphone cable was already send from UK, i should be able to do some pictures at the weekend of the finished stack.
But my M200 + SP200 will still be going to the office.

That thing is amazing. I hope some chinese brands can do something like that at a cheaper price.

Congrats

When your Adi arrives could you please test for me if there is a sonically improvement when there is a SP 200 between the Adi and 1990 ? I wonder because the SP 200 puts out 4 times the power :)
