So, t90 or dt1770 is better? I have my friend using t90, wanna know which one is bettee
I own the 1770 and once owned the T90. I would not compare these two cans to one another. A better choice would be T90 vs 1990. Open vs closed backs is, most of the time, apples vs oranges. :apple::tangerine:

Hi All, can someone compare dt1770 pro to dt990? I Know that the dt990 is open back but since the dt1990 have less bass then dt1770pro my question is: how ist the bass, especially subbas comapred to dt990? Thanks

I would argue that when well driven the DT 1990 has a little more bass than the DT 1770, I own both. I find the DT 990 to sound very different from the DT 1770 and DT 1990 which actually sound a lot like each other. The DT 990 has less midrange presence, sharper treble, less detail, bass hits hard but I find it has less than the HD 650 and DT 1770/1990. Both the DT 1770 and DT 1990 extend deeper in the sub-bass than the DT 990. Both the DT 1770/1990 are notably darker and also more intimate sounding than the DT 990.

I never heard on my own ears dt1770pro or dt1990pro, i was reading it somewhere, so thats why i asked, i have now dt990 and using it with fiio x7 and am5 module, do you think this dap can be taken as "well driven"? Im now very pleased with the sound from dt990, especially with sub-bass, but when you say that dt1770pro or dt1990pro have better sub-bass than dt990 than i strongly thinking about buying dt1770 or dt1990, thank you

Would anyone who has a DT1770 want my pleather pads to trade evenly for their velour pads?

I find I prefer the velours and wouldn't mind trading for an extra pair.

FYI: Still loving my 1770's. I think these are right up there with the best available in the closed headphones category.

rusnak666,
I have both DT1770PRO and DT1990PRO, and am completely agree with kman1211's impressions.
the bass of 1770 hit harder than that of 1990 because they are closed back, but if you carefully listen to the sound you'll find bass of 1990 extends little deeper and has more detailed texture.

So this is the matter of preference. if you like bass slam you should go to 1770, and if you want bass precision I recommend you to go to 1990.

me? I love both.

So, did dt1990 is better than t90?

talk about its:
lows
mids
highs
soundstage

Also, compare it with t1 2nd gen too. I feel like finding a good neutral for vocal listening.

I think the T90 is going to be hard to recommend for pleasure and that the DT1990 would have a more agreeable treble for you.

Many find the T90 to have too much harsh, hot treble.

Have u ever heard of t1 2nd? How did it compare to dt1990?

I haven't heard either of those two, only the DT1770, which is simply excellent!

I am interested to a new neutral heaphone which has smooth highs and huge soundstage.
HD800? K813? T1 2nd?

The reviews for this HP are all over the place. There are those who say the bass gets the spotlight and those who say the bass is anemic. Others say its highs are sibilant while others say this is the smoothest/least sibilant Beyerdynamic to date. Some say it has a small soundstage and others say its soundstage comes close to the HD 800!
So which of you current owners can put all this dichotomy to rest and give an unbiased review of these? My current closed Headphones are Nad Viso HP50 and Shure 1540. With those as a basic baseline, how would you compare the lows, mids, highs, and soundstage? I don't think the Nads or Shures are bass anemic or sibilant at all and they both have a good soundstage with the Shures having one of the best I've heard in a closed can (in my opinion). Thank you!

Hi, i was asking a question about what means "weel driven" amp for this headphones, but no one answered to me, do you think guys that my fiio x7 with am5 module is enough? It has about 55mW for 300ohm... (500mW for 32ohm, 800mW for 16ohm), thanks for any answere

Yeah, just like any headphone ever. People like different sound signatures so there will not be consensus on these different aspects of sound.
