I'm still waiting for somebody to transplant T50rp drivers into there...

That would be epic.

Also, you're the guy I was referring to! Put some T50rps in there, pronto!

Yeah, well that would require me buying a COP. If I can get a shell for cheap, I would certainly consider it. Or if someone would send me the parts to do it, I would.

Right now my next project is to put some T50rp drivers into a V-Moda Crossfade

I would love if somebody managed to transplant DT880 drivers inside the COPs.

Just get a DT770. It has similar drivers to the DT880/990, and similar closed design (but not adjustable bass) to the COP.

Nah. I honestly bought the COPs on impulse, wanting a stylish, fun-sounding, "portable" headphone for $200 or less. I already have DT880/600s, I don't really need DT770s. I hope my replacement COPs don't clip, because then I can keep them and bring them over to friend's places and leave my prized HD650s and DT880s at home.

Do you still have the faulty COP? You should send them to me for experimentation...

Nah, they sent a UPS guy to pick them up from me.

Judging by the discussion on this page (driver transplants), I assume that the COP hasn't exactly been hailed as a great new Beyer product? I hadn't been paying attention to it at all because it doesn't pass the ugly test and isn't good enough sonically to warrant waiving that test.

You think they're ugly???? Wow... first person I've heard say that! I think they look incredibly sexy and industrial. They'd be better with a Tesla driver :)

Honestly I think they're definitely a GREAT buy at $130 (the price I got them at). I have yet to hear many bass heavy headphones that sound better at that price range. They're also super comfy and overall produce a good quality sound. They aren't going to match up to any flagship headphones and they are not meant to be amped, but if you just want a fun headphone that sounds great for more mainstream and pop music, I think they're a fantastic choice. Personally, I'm extremely happy with my purchase!

I just wish I didn't have to jerry-rig my Bifrost to my E17 using an RCA-to-3.5mm adapter, just so they don't sound overamped (using Lyr as preamp) or clip, or both.

You say they aren't meant to be amped but there is a definite improvement in sq when using mine with my clip+ and e11 than just the clip+, so much cleaner even to my newbie ears. Just checked again as you had me doubting whether I need the e11 and radiohead just confirmed it

Well...I recently emailed Beyer about the status of my COP and no word yet from them. This is crazy. They could have just sent me a new one and get done with it. What's going on...Are they doing lab experiments with them?
