Hi All,
 
I love my Beyerdynamic DT880's, but after about six months of use the pleather (?) cover on the headband started disintegrating, leaving a sticky residue in contact with the skin. I'd take the 'phones off after a session and see that it had taken quite a few hairs out of my balding top! (I remember a thread here about possible baldness via headphones--this for me might be one of the contributing factors!)
 
It seems that sweat/summer heat hastened the breakdown. Has anyone else had a problem with this? Can one get Beyerdynamic 'phones with a better headband/covering? And is it the same material that is used in the T1? Thanks for your thoughts.

The MANUFAKTUR version has the upgrade option for a genuine leather headband. Hard to justify buying a completely new pair over a headband though, and I doubt you can get it separately.

I know the focus is the sound quality, but I'm surprised Beyerdynamic would use this kind of material.
