Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless

Look at that, it's a beauty all over the place.

I see there is one common issue on the Amiron Wireless, there is a small piece of the headband popping out at the left side. The right side doesn't have the issue.
Got the same issue on my T1.2 black's. 'Fixed' it by applying a small drop of glue between the headband and the plastic piece at the end.

Didn't expect that to happen on the T1.2. Then it can happen on my T5p.2 too. How did you do that? Care to share pictures to understand it better on how to do it without screwin up the looks?

Here you go ... while making the picture I saw it didn't even work for 100% :frowning2:

It seems to me Beyer didn't extend the lenght of the headband cloth, the issue is mostly for the Left side. They can simple fix it by extending it.

I'm afraid of that when using the glue. That's why I used a piece of very small microfiber cloth. It has almost the same color. I'll take a picture soon.

The user replaceable caps like on the DT1770/1990 work better as well since you can just unscrew it a bit, fix the headband and re-screw.
I know. Too bad the caps doesn't have that feature. That would have made life so much easier to fix.

I want to try the same thing but I was wondering what glue you used? I see from your picture that it's not fabric you've glued but I'm interested to know what glue you used. I'm asking because some reviewers said that "Loctite superglue" could have a bad reaction to fabric with cotton/polyester (not that I know for sure what the fabric on the Amiron is).

The small piece of cloth I sticked it in just came off during the night when watching Netflix. What a freaking joke, Beyerdynamic! I think it's better to report this issue and hopefully they'll fix it. I'm trying to think on how to glue it without making the glue visible at all.

I'm using a multi-usage glue (Pattex Multi) but keep in mind that the fabric on the Amiron series is different from that of the T1/T5p

I think I've got the most silly idea and yet so wonderfull and genius to avoid any cosmetic screw-ups whenever having to glue this issue. You need a straw that you can squeeze it enough to be flat, any tool to put the cotton/polyester back to it's place, stick the straw in, cut it off just enough and then pour the glue in.

I made pictures to explain it better. With this way, you'll avoid it messing it up.

You need any very flat tool to put the cotton back inside:

A straw that you can cut whenever you feel like it and make the end flat:

Cut it somewhere half but you can decide it yourself, this is mine:

When you're satisfied on how you placed the cut straw, you can pour the glue in the straw and squeeze or move whenever you feel like it and make it dry a bit. Make sure not to move a lot. It depends on which glue you use but this is mine:

This is my first time I tried it this way so there is a slight visible place but fortunately the headband is very dark to spot it easily. Next time when fixing the same issue on other headphones other than Amirons, you know what to do.

After finishing it:

After it's dried up, you can move the headband cushion to hide the spot.

Interesting idea, my solution was to push the cloth into the plastic tabs then take a sewing needle and lightly coat it with super glue and use the width of the needle to apply the glue between the cloth and plastic. You can't tell its been glued at all and if theres ever the case you need to replace the plastic tabs its easier to disassemble

Your idea is interesting too, thanks. Will keep that in mind. You hold the headband cushion to avoid the cotton moving out? And then coating it lightly with the glue?

Basically i'll use a flat head to tuck the cloth under the plastic tabs then dip the tip of the sewing needle into super glue tube. Then you use the needle as like a pen and apply small amounts between the seam where the cloth and plastic meet each other. I applied just enough for it to hold it in place so you can't really tell whether its glued in place or not.

Hi all!

I've been thinking about splurging into some Amiron cans to replace my trusty DT770 Pro 80 which have served me for many years but I'm in seriously doubting between the convenience of the Wireless version (bluetooth, easy to drive) and the price and the potential SQ of the Home version, so if any of you have listened to both it would help me decide if you tell me about the differences in the quality and the sound signature.

Thanks!

Besides obvious technical differences (closed vs semi-open, cable etc) the Amiron Home was too warm and inoffensive to me. I mich preferred the Wireless, which I still consider the best wireless model I’ve experienced so far.
If you’re coming from the DT770 I think the wireless is more like that model, yet has more resolution and less of that 7k peak while still maintaining a lively sound signature.
