Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless

The best Beyer sound signature I've heard is the DT 1350, but I don't have them anymore because the clamp + little on-ear pads murdered my poor ears. I was hoping Aventho (wired or wireless even better) would be a more comfortable version of the DT 1350, but it seems it's tuned way differently -- more consumer-friendly sound than the DT 1350. @Mark Up have you heard the DT 1350 and if so could you describe the Amiron Wireless in comparison to the DT 1350? :D

What all pleather ear pads fit these?. If anyone has a comprehensive list that'd be great. Also, how do the ear pads come off? I don't own these yet - but those are considerations.

I don't have them at hand, but as far as I remember the pads are snap on, i.e. not using a lip like the pads on almost all other full-size Beyers. They should come off by grabbing them inside and outside and gently pulling.
I don't think any alternative pads are available (yet?).

I just got the Amiron Wireless and I'm enjoying their sound. However, the clamp force is a bit tight for the sides of my head. Has anyone stretched their headphone successfully and safely, e.g. manually stretching the headband or put them on something around size of a human head overnight? Figured I'd ask for tips before trying any maneuvers.

Nevermind, it's quickly gotten better just wearing them naturally. No problem now.

They have an amp inside and will get plenty loud. I personally use Power Amp, too, where you can adjust the loudness via preamp, and I have never had an issue with a BT headphones as a result.

The PSB m4u 8 sound terrible. They got loud, but looked goofy as hell, with crap sound. The WS99 sounded decent, but distorted, feel really cheap, and have HORRIBLE isolation.

If you don't end up liking the Amiron, as I mentioned, I use the Dt 1770 with an ES100, and HM5 earpads. It's a solid combination. I linked it earlier in thread.

I tried the Amiron (got a deal for $599 at Amazon) wireless, but ended up returning it since they were too bulky. Now I regret that decision daily, the prices are back to $699!! I have an Audeze iSine20 and B&W PX, but nothing comes close to Amiron w.r.t separation and sound stage.
Can you give more details on ES100 + DT1770? Do they get loud enough on the ES100? I was under the impression that the ES100 could not drive 250ohms. Also how long does your battery last. If it works they could be a good combo to be used on the fly. DT1770 sounds better w.r.t after market support and availability of the custom pads.

It drove it just fine. I would have Poweramp on 50% at the gym. No issue there.

You can always (when available) get them thru Amazon Warehouse...they have some now for @550. I've bought a few items that way with no problems.

Will I be able to claim warranty in this case? Not sure how that works. I would like to have the warranty due to this headphone being wireless and having a touchpad.

Update: Hmm seems like they do not have warranty - https://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000656811

Okay I contacted the seller again. They said they will honor the sale price and offered me a new one at a discounted price of 580$. What do you guys think? Seems like a very good deal to me.
(Sorry Mark Up!!)

Hey Don...(I see you recently joined Head-Fi). Unless you are 100% sure this is what you want..I'd invest some time hitting some local stores (or meets). You are in a major area..so selection shouldn't be a problem. It's REALLY easy in this hobby to spend LOADS of dough before you finally hit your happy zone.
You are coming from the ATH-50x...and while I've heard great things about the Amiron wired version...the verdict is still out on the wireless. (at least in my opinion). I think 580 is just OK.

Thanks for the inputs Bern. "It's REALLY easy in this hobby to spend LOADS of dough before you finally hit your happy zone. " - Very true.
I might as well invest in some meets. Local stores have not been of much help as most of them don't do demo on Audiophile headphones.

I have put in a lot of effort so far. I have tried, M&D, B&W PX, XM3 and QC 35. PX was the best but maybe a bit too bland. I have an Audeze iSine 20, M50X now, but they both dont give a good sense of sound stage to me.

Today I am trying out my friend's HiFiMan HE200.. More searching I suppose!
