I tried out an older version of DT660 (2005?) and was surprised to find that it didn't have the amazing isolation that I saw somebody here boast about. There was definitely a lot more sound leakage (out, at least... don't remember how it was the other way, but I think that the 770's were also better) than on DT770.

I'm thinking that this could have changed with the 2007 version of the headphones. Can anyone confirm or deny this? And in general, what are the difference between the two versions?

Here's the specs for the dt770/250.

* Transducer type: Dynamic
* Operating principle: Closed
* Frequency response: 5 - 35,000 Hz
* Nominal impedance acc. to IEC 60268-7: 250 ohm
* Nominal SPL acc. to IEC 60268-7: 96 dB
* Nominal THD acc. to IEC 60268-7: < 0.2%
* Power handling capacity acc. to IEC 60268-7: 100 mW
* Sound coupling to the ear: Circumaural
* Ambient noise isolation: approx. 18 dB (A)
* Nominal headband pressure: approx. 3.5 N
* Weight without cable: 270 g
* Length and type of cable: 3 m / coiled cable
* Connection: Gold plated stereo jack plug (3.5 mm) and 1/4" adapter (6.35 mm)

It isolates two more db's than the dt660. I'm not sure how much that actually is in layman terms...
