Better computer 2.1 speakers(comparison)?

Which would be better...
Logitech X-230?

OR
Altec Lansing VS-4121

I have purchased the X-230 and returned it. It manages to be both more muddy AND less poweful than my 6-year old Logitech Z340 speakers. I am a long time logitech fan, however, and would recommend the Z4 in the X-230's price range and the Z2300 in that Altec Lansing's price range. I may be biased, but I am also of the opinion that Altec Lansing does not make a single product worth over $20.

crapy mids on the Altec Lansing it uses a down firing mid.. yuck.

Wouldn't waste my my money. The sats aren't bad for what they are, but the sub is really just a boomy plodding thing. As usual with tiny sub-sat setups you just get treble & boomy bass, but no midrange.

Well yeah, All "pc speakers" suck but some folks just want it easy. Fought this fight often enough lol.
