I have purchased the X-230 and returned it. It manages to be both more muddy AND less poweful than my 6-year old Logitech Z340 speakers. I am a long time logitech fan, however, and would recommend the Z4 in the X-230's price range and the Z2300 in that Altec Lansing's price range. I may be biased, but I am also of the opinion that Altec Lansing does not make a single product worth over $20.

Yeah... What he said

Unless they are brand new and you don't want to open them. I'd get rid of the more expensive one then...

Wouldn't waste my my money. The sats aren't bad for what they are, but the sub is really just a boomy plodding thing. As usual with tiny sub-sat setups you just get treble & boomy bass, but no midrange.

Well yeah, All "pc speakers" suck but some folks just want it easy. Fought this fight often enough lol.

Just wait until you see the contraption I am working on lol. Not farting about anymore.
