Beta testing the new Audeze Black-Box.

My name is Oscar and I'm currently doing review with Lance over at his YouTube channel HiFiheaven. It would be great for me to be able to get a hold of a headphone from Audeze to be able to review it, as well as provide some feedback on how the new black box. I'm still gaining experience on this whole hifi hobby, but I know my stuff well enough to be able to work with the equipment. In total I've been in the audio game for 3 years now, so I know enough to address anything you guys want. Plus if you're worried about long range shipping, not to worry because I live in silicon Valley, so distance from the shipping area shouldn't be much of a problem.

Very interesting product.  I like the ability to control the black box from the cloud.  Very cool!!!!

I would really love testing the Black Box!  I'm going to have a geek attack here!!!!!

A bit about me... I'm an IT administrator by trade so I have a deep knowledge of network protocols, network troubleshooting, hardware troubleshooting, software troubleshooting, web page design including programming, ect... that I can see being beneficial to the project.  In my spare time I'm an audiophile and geek that loves new and very cool things.

The Black Box looks like a huge leap forward in the audiophile world.  I would not only love to beta test, but I would be honoured to.  See I'm perfect for this test.

Something else I wanted to interject about myself.  I've taken part in a number of beta tests in the past.  I'm very savvy in the realm of testing new unreleased products.

I would love to test this and put it up against my newest desk set up macbook as the server, Pulse X and Hifiman HE-560s. I use my dedicated desk set up, 4-8 hours per day. I also have a few other DAC / AMP combo's that i have used over the last year from various vendors and some fairly new emotiva (XDA-2 and XMC-1) processors.

I work in an open plan office and use both Mac and Intel based computers while sitting at a desk and listing primarily to Classical music, but some Jazz and popular music from the new wave error.

I have a background in software testing, as well as chemical lab techniques. I am able to document my testing activities, log daily use, qualitative feedback, and any technical issues that come up.

I'd be so honored to be selected in this beta program. Something that brings the most joy to me is the ability to experience new aidio gear and not just hear but feel its individual characteristics. I take such pride in sharing my experience with audio to all who've an interest in listening, rather customers traveling through my store in the airport or the few who watch my youtube and read my blog; getting others excited about current or even future audio anything is something that really can't be duplicated. Perhaps my enthusiasm and willingness to share my views and thoughts on things is why Moon-Audio decided to bestow me the honor of being not just an Ambassador for them but also just recently an official reviewer. So if I've the honor of being selected to beta test this distinguished product for even a mpre prestigious company I would perform the same respect and admirality towards Audeze as I have and will continue to have towards Moon-Audio. If I'm not graced with this opportunity then may the best of luck fall to all others who've applied and have been chosen.

Wow, I would love to take part!!!!

As a long time Audeze signature fan, I have been working for years to dial in my LCD2.2 to perfection. I am also trying to decide between the LCD-X or XC as my next addition to the family. The X sounds better to my ears than the XC, but I need a closed headphone so I am at a stand still. Maybe your black box is the solution that I am looking for. My current peak setup is:

Havana 2 tube DAC > Mjolnir AMP > Balanced Moon Audio Black Dragon Cable > LCD2.2

The Mojo as a solid state amp is correctly driving 5 watts to the LCD2.2, but while bringing out the LCDs treble capabilities, it is also making the LCD too bright and aggressive forcing me to turn down the volume. This is where the Havana Tube DAC comes in giving me variable control through tube rolling. However, there is a Audeze lushness that seems to be elusive in this setup that is making me want to experiment more. I have a Eddie Current Zana Deux (the new version just released) on its way to see what it can do. Having tried the old version before, it was lush and just right, but lacked the power to drive it as far as I wanted to go.

Your new black box seems like a very interesting alternative that I would love to take part in. Working from a home office owning my own company, I have extensive time to test while doing my work and would be thrilled to make a contribution. I have participated in a number of tours and have hosted several more with a number of manufactures including 1964ears, Noble Audio, and CustomArt.

Wow, this device might just help me solve my challenge!
I have a slight degradation in one of my ears, which developed about 6 years ago, with upper frequency sensitivity rolling off by about 3-6db, and I have not been able to find a useful solution that would let me compensate without some side effect or added inconvenience.  I must admit, though, that Audez'e headphones were never on my short list.  Well, perhaps this may change that!

As far as technology and beta-testing experience goes, that is something I've been doing over 20 years of working in technology field.  My first beta projects were Mac OS System 7 and Windows NT in early 90s.

I am very interested in reviewing the Black Box. I currently own your Audeze LCD-X headphones so the inclusion of the EL-8s would work for me. I'm retired at 66 and I've been enjoying high-end audio for the last year after the purchase of the LCD-Xs and a Fostex HPa8c DAC. I too suffer from tinnitus that varies from zero to maybe 40% at its worse. I've lost some high- frequency response so the Black Box is of great interest to me. BTW I'm a licensed Amateur Radio operator (since 1980 mainly contesting) so I've got a lot of experience wearing headphones. I'm a former newspaper and group national magazine editor so recently I've been writing plain-language reviews on head-if.org. I'm currently reviewing an Aune B1 class A amp which plays very well with the Audezes. I write about my impressions of what works and why and what I'd like to see improved. Folks here seem to appreciate my no-nonsense approach to reviewing. Hope to hear from you.

I am interested in this beta test. I believe I would be a good beta tester for the following reasons:

1) I love headphones, and have owned quite a number of them, including the HiFiMAN HE-560 and Fostex TH900. I am a big fan of planar magnetic headphones. I post regularly on the forum threads of products I own, and have written several informal reviews (e.g. one of the first retail-version HiFiMAN HE-560 impressions) on these threads.

2) I am tech savvy and handy. I am a full-time Software Engineer in the Valley, and am very used to filing clear, detailed bug reports. I have also extensively modded almost every headphone I have owned, including the Koss KSC75, HiFiMAN HE-400, HiFiMAN HE-560, and Fostex TH900.

3) I am truly interested in this product. As a modding enthusiast, the ability to a tweak a headphones (in a very technical sense) to your preferences is extremely appealing to me. I truly want this product to succeed, as it would allow consumers to tailor headphones to suit their preferences without having to dabble with the uncertainties of modding and blind purchases.

I would really appreciate the contribute to Audeze's next big product launch. I look forward to hearing back from your company!

Would love to test the Black Box and the EL-8 or LCD-X.
I work in as an IT administrator/consultant, but started as a electronics engineer/technician and even repaired speakers, mixers (but it's
almost 20 years ago now). In my spare time I'm a musician (yes the avatar) so as well as passive listening I'm very much
also busy with how music/sounds actually sound. We (the band) always used Sennheiser and at home for just fun listening I'm using a
Fidelio X1, but this headphone will be gone in 3 weeks so I'm looking for a new one. Audeze (but Hifiman, ZMF as well) are
definitely on the radar.
I'm particularly interested in how the Black Box would correct certain frequency dips as I noticed I might have just a bit
more bass in my left ear then the right (I can live with it but I do notice it). I thought it might be the X1 having an imbalance
but I think it more my ears.

"Tell us why you would love to test this product and a few details about your background. Being tech-savvy would be a plus as there will be a learning curve. We’ll select testers by your willingness to dedicate the necessary time and provide effective feedback. We have two units at the moment and we’d like to send them to six to eight users over the next few months. You can also PM us if you don’t want to put all your information in the thread."

why?  well why else, because i want to know how it sounds, how everything sounds.  nothing is perfect but id still like to hear how close you have gotten to it.

I would be interested in participating in this program. I will be willing to spend the necessary time to beta test the product extensively. I take pride in writing extremely in-depth reviews. I do consider myself quite tech-savy as I know how to code and build computers.

I currently owned the LCD-X and previously owned closed EL-8. I have also extensively demoed the LCD-2, LCD-3, and Deckhard. My headphone collection currently consists of the K7xx, K553, PM-3, Alpha Prime, HE-560, and LCD-X. I have a HE-1000 and Ether arriving soon. I have extensive experience with a large sampling headphones, amplifiers, and dacs.

Here is a list of the reviews I have posted on head-fi:
