I love video game soundtracks!

"Bionic Commando: Rearmed" has a great soundtrack.

Thus far this thread is a massive failure. Not a mention of the Homeworld series... It's by far my favorite soundtrack of all-time for a video game. Homeworld, Homeworld Cata, Homeworld 2.. Still lucky to have the physical copy of the Homeworld soundtrack, and mp3's of the Cata & 2.

Some excerpts, for those who are not familiar... and for those who are, to bring back some very fond memories:

Adagio For Strings. Most, who haven't played the series.. are not aware that its the 'Title
Theme.' So good.

Random 'raider' battle music..

The garden levels were some of the toughest.. the music, just downright eery.

Surely it has to be The Last Ninja.

x2. This partical song has been burned into my brains ever since I got my C64. I still find myself humming it from time to time whenever I am doing something. And the part from 1:48 and onwards still gives me goosebumps. Though whats up with that vids faked hard left-right stereo? Not part of the original tune. Supposed to be mono through and through.

Oh, and loader music from Ocean games! We had to wait fom 10 minutes until the game loads (from tape) but half of that time we were served some badass SID chip tunes. Something I kinda miss from todays gaming.

Another C64 that has burned its tunes into my brains is Fist II. All of its 3 tunes are great and on this vid. Especially the cave tune (the last one in this vid) is beautiful, scary and sad, all at the same time.

Yeah I tried to find an original in pristine mono, unfortunately that was the best one I could find after a bit of searching and short notice.  I am sure there's something better out there.  All those old C64 tunes bring back memories I love it.

I think there is a symphony orchestra somewhere that recorded some pieces from original C64 games and The Last Ninja was one of them, I would love to hear it.

Looks like I am off to the land of Youtube.

I'm going to have to be slightly generic and say that the Halo series is one of the greatest, most cinematic I've ever heard.

Not a mention of Commandos 2 and the masterpieces of Mateo Pascual?

The Bethesda Pirates of the Caribbean game from 2003 or so had some really nice music if I recall:

Then I like this electronic bit from the PS2 Burnout game:

Oh yeah and for those who have played the DBZ games on the Gameboy Advance I'm sure you'll remember this one, as it's just pure bad***;

That's all I can come up with for now, I'm sure there's plenty more.

Oh yes - nearly forgot Castlevania - Symphony of the Night.
For those knowledgeable in Japanese games, Sangoku 5, 6 and 7 have beautiful soundtracks as well.
