I reckon you were happy with it :) ?
Yes, it sounds great, looks great and have a lot of power. I was looking for the solution to change cable to more short and flexible - there are adapters from female USB-A to female USB-C, will they work with the Hip-Dac - considering using usb-c to usb-c OTG cable as the connection between dac and phone? Are the OTG capabilities required for connectivity?

BTW I have some problem with battery draining on my Hip-Dac - would you be so kind and review it here?

Every cable that is similar to our OTGs ( https://ifi-audio.com/products/otg-cables/ ) should work in case of Android devices. Smartphones with iOS require CCK.

Is there something we could do to trigger the high gain without any adapter?
maybe some ADB command or something,

it could make a different is sound quality,
maybe it would sounds better with no power restriction,

do you have any DAP to compare the sound quality vs ROG 5 ?

I only have a cheap Hiby R2,
The last time I have a DAP is two years ago which is the Cowon Plenue D, so no comparison for me.

What earphones are you using with the iPhone Pro/L&P W2? Are you using a streaming service (which one?) or local files? Thanks
Using Sony Z1R balanced, stock everything. At the moment Apple Music. Also have TIDAL and Deezer. Happy with this combo. Might keep Tidal to use with my KEFs. I have a Helm Bolt DAC coming, so will test with that also.

I have modded apple music app that will work with hi-fi. here it is:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dPmy8HWkvY2I-EQR4MAVR4cHByujEJAP/view

For other app, please follow this tutorial. (Apk editor pro) (please google translate russian)

Apk editor pro tutorial for make a clone app and changing package name to trigger hifi

So, apple music hifi has recently been launched in India and I came to know about it a few days ago only. This is the first and the only streaming platform in India with hifi audio. But my vivo nex is not able to identify the app under Hifi section.

Tried the above steps but apk editor pro is not working as intended. Couldn't find any alternatives to apk editor pro. The above is an almost 3 years old post and it appears like apk editor pro is no longer maintained.

Is there any other way of enabling hifi mode in apple music app on mobile phones such as vivo nex? @RishiGuru Do you use streaming services for listening to songs?

I had a look at the Helm Bolt DAC ; it needs a Lightning to USB Camera Adapter :frowning2:
I am always worried that adding adapters, dongles, and IEM will make the combo not so portable at the end ...

W2 is the cleanest for iPhone. Just the USB-C - Lightning and dongle. There is a bit more drain on battery life. DAPs are no go for me. Don't want to carry two devices.

I have a nice combo DAP-cable-CIEM but due to the weight - and the price :D - I use them only at home.
The problem is that I have 1.5 TB of local files and I hate streaming services because there is more then often problems to download a song (subway, plane, no coverage - where I am now I'm between Edge and bad 3G).
There is no small and light DAP with 512 GB of internal storage.
Maybe the new 1 TB iPhone that should be release in October with the app Vox and it's cloud platform would be a solution, but again with a dongle on the iPhone you can't put it easily in your pocket and you need to be careful with your IEM ...
Yeah ... I know that's a rich people problem :D

Wish future iphone will have usb c.

but if you buy some dongle, it will come with lightning to c adapter which is also okay. I believe.

By technical sheet the Sabre ES9280AC Pro itself seems to support native DSD512 via USB, so i think it's just an implementation(?)/android 11 limitation. What do you think About that?
The path for sending the dsd information is not there. There is no code for it in the device and no path to get the dsd stream into dacchips. Has nothing to do with Android and everything to do with manufacturers not givi g a crap about sound.

The reason of modifying Apple Music Android app is to get bit-perfect signal from it, right? And it is working correctly? Which version it is, and is it possible to get updates from Google Store without loosing bit-perfect capabilities, or should it be done manually for each new version (till adding bit-perfect option to the app by Apple)?

Edit:
Oh, this is the old one post  Any possibilities to enable bit-perfect on the most recent app?
