Guys looking at open ear cans with nice soundstage and good bass. I have the XB700 so dont need bass too much..Need clean sound and like some say "Feel of being there in a recording studio or concert" :)

Looking at Senn HD518 , Senn 598, Beyer 990pro

AKG Q701. Can be had (albeit, scarcely) for 200. Most detail and sound quality for the price. Definitely look for a set on eBay and amazon. You will need an amp to get the most out of them, but some computer setups can handle them just fine.

If you're really talking $200 and not more, I highly recommend the
Sony MDR MA 900's.  They list for $300.00 but I've seen them
going for $200.00 some places.

Another recommendation is the Grado 225i, with the very unique
Grado sound signature.  They sell for $200.00

Both are open headphones.

New Q701's for $200.00?  Could you post a link?
(At this moment, Amazon's price is $301.79).

HD518 is untouchable in this price range... When paired with proper amp, heck it even outshines D5k; cross-finger...

Recommended here. And the amazon price fluctuates. I got mine for 240 as well. Worth saving up for. But I just picked up the Audio-Technica AD700 for 70 bucks, and it's about 3/4 of the Q701. Consider it the baby sister of the Q701. Sound signature is close, but bass is not present, you'll need an amp (I'm using the bass heavy setting on my E7) and it sounds very close to the Q701.

Maybe look into the Audio-Technica AD900 if you absolutely have to spend less than 200 bucks. Apparently, it's supposed to sound like/better than the Q701. But, I've never heard it before.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. :)
