I think, however, I would give the best of '07 title to Of Montreal if the year were at an end right now. Hissing Fauna is simply outstanding. As good as the others are, this one is unavoidable.

Dt - Systematic Chaos
Redemption - Origins of sin
Sonata Arctica - Unia ( a diffrent , but still a very good album )
Threshold - Dead Reckoning

Just a heads up. I believe you have the title of Redemption's CD wrong. It is actually "The Origins Of Ruin". And I agree that it is a killer CD, as are both of their previous CDs.

I've only heard two albums released in '07. EL-P I'll Sleep When Your Dead is pretty damn good.

The other one was Arcade Fire - Neon Bible..... my mom says that if you can't say anything nice don't say nothing at all

I'm with you on both of those albums. I can't believe I forgot about I'll Sleep When You're Dead. I've always like El-P's style, and his production is top notch. This album was superior to his first IMO. The first one seemed to trail off towards the end, while this one kept up the pace much better throughout the album. He seems to be a relatively overlooked artist around here though.

Neon Bible did nothing for me the few times I listened to it. As a reference I loved Funeral. For me to get into this kind of group is rare though. I guess funeral was just a special album to begin with.
