What are the best neutral iems under 150 dolallars for 2015?  I was thinking about a mk5 and a mc5 instead of an hf5 because they will be two in case one if the cable breaks. If your recommendation is above or close to 100 dollars please recommend me a detachable cable model. Thank you.

I've been recommending everyone the SE215s :p If you want detachable besides just a few models close to the $100 range, you'll have to go $250+
I'm not sure how neutral they are, but they're designed for sound engineering/monitoring, so they should be relatively neutral... check them out!

Thank you very much bluejay. I read about the se 215 but their sound seems not to be neutral. Any other recommendations? Does anyone know about any other brand that has neutral iems at that price range? Are the etymotics good for what I am looking for? How are the etymotics build quality?

Also the se215 seems to have problems with its detachable cord.

VSonic VC1000 or Rock-It Sound R-50 they use the same driver but have different tuning. The first has more bass and the second larger soundstage. Hifiman RE400, Etymotic HF5 and VSonic GR07 are other options.

I personally liked the R50 better than the HF5 due to larger soundstage.

I just saw that the westone um pro 10 is at 150 $ should I buy them? They also have detachable cord. How is the signature in these? Is that a promo for a few days or has it been like thos for a while?

Look no further, if you want the best neutral IEM you can get even in probably a higher price range, Hifiman re-400. Look at joker's review as he will explain it's the most neutral you can get in it's price range that competes with higher tier IEM's.

Will they last as long as the westone with deatchable cable? 150 $ is a lot for me since I am a student and I dont want to replace the iems in less than a year. Ill still investigate about them though. Thank you.

I would avoid single BA IEMS. Owned a se315 before and also heard the um10s. Both are good but lacking in terms of overall Sq. If you want neutral go with the re400s but I heard they have poor build quality.

What about the etymotics mk5? I could buy too of them for 120 in case one of them gets broken. I read the mc5s are not as good as the mk5. Other suggestions maybe? Thank you.

The re400 are too expensive for me now because they dont have detachable cables. Id preffer iems without detachable cables to be under 75$, if it goes above that until 150$ it would have to be with detachable cables. Any other suggestions for the sound signature? How nad is the bass in balanced armature drivers like the westones compared to dynamic drivers?

I kind of agree with you on the point that $100+ earphones should have detachable cables. However, you could get 2 RE-400s at street price for about $150 in case one breaks. I suppose companies need to cheap out on build quality in order to provide that quality sound. For me, the RE-400s sound slightly better than $100 IEMs but have the build quality of $20 earphones. Its a shame but I guess you can't win them all.

Are they really that much better than the westone um 10 pro or the etymotic mk5 (or mc5)? At that price point i would really love detachable cables. I have to buy them online and I fant find a price under 80 dollars for the re400 in the us.

Also, I just found out that there are audio technica iems that are within my price range and have detachable cable, are those any good for neutral sound signature?

If you can handle non detachable cables, Havi B3 Pro 1.

Do a little research on that one.
