I just quit retail. I HATE RETAIL.

What are some great jobs for college students?

I heard working as a Hotel front desk clerk is good because of the downtime you get in between, which would allow you do do homework.

What do you guys think???

Personal Experience? Second hand?

Part time poker dealer.

Definitely make more money than you think...goto a poker room or casino and just pay attention to the tips a dece dealer gets in his 30 minute stint at a table.....multiply that by 2 to get an average hourly rate....

I work as an ITS lab assistant, which gives me about 90% downtime and lets me do homework - and for doing homework, wage rate doesn't even matter.

maybe try talking to some of your professors, they are are often doing research and working as a research assistant usually has great pay and flexible hours

Look for a job as a bank teller. Banks only want part time tellers, the work is clean and the pay isn't bad.

Lots of other college kids do it, so it's fun and you'll make friends.

Look for a job where you can make contacts in your field of study if possible. I know this isn't a specific job suggestion, but building contacts prior to graduation will help make the transition from college job to career much easier.

I have fond memories of being a reference librarian while in university. Of course such work wouldn't be to all students' liking, but it certainly helps to do work that somehow supports one's studies.

Definitely a good idea. I got a job as a Bank Teller part time in High School because my mom put in a good word for me. The same bank recently hired my sister and ex-roommate (both still in college) to work part-time during the school year and possible longer hours in the summer.

I personally got a job as a research assistant in college. Whenever there wasn't much work to be done, I had a lot of downtime for doing homework.

I work as a student in college. They don't pay me nothing but they sure love to give me plenty of works.

All jokes aside, I heard building security guard is perfect for college students. Pretty much all you have to do is sit down and do whatever you want. You only have to check the building once or twice per shift.

Look for a job in the computer lab. You can just sit there, keep an eye on the computers, and make sure the printer is full.

The rest of the time is great for doing homework.
