Best IEM tips?
Jan 8, 2023 at 2:43 AM Post #2,281 of 3,308
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the different models of Comply Foam 100, 200, 400 and 500? I am more interested in the difference in the internal bore size (how wide). Is it correct that the model 500 has a larger internal bore size than the model 400, although the number is 500? Because, for example, the model 200 should have a larger internal bore size than 100.

1mm, 2mm, 4mm and 5mm possibly? You can check on their site if they will fit a particular model of IEM (note that their list is not exhaustive). :L3000:

Here's what you want to know. I've measured the actual bores of different foam tips as well.

Left to right: T100, T200, T300 & T400

Tips I've had: size listed to fit (actual bore I.D.)
T100 3.0+ mm (2.7mm)
T200 4.5+ mm (4.3mm)
T300 4.0+ mm (3.6mm)
T400 4.9+ mm (4.7mm)
M550/550S 5.5mm+ (5.3mm)
TS200 4.5mm+ (4.3mm)
TS400 4.9mm+ (4.7mm)
TS400 6.5mm+ (6.3mm)

Thank you very much!

In the meanwhile I found this on Amazon: Inner diameter of Comply's...: ...100 = appr. 2,8 mm;...200 = appr. 5,0 mm; ...400 = appr. 5,2 mm; ...500 = appr. 4,7 mm.

So, 400 is really wider then 500?!

Thanks for that!. If we could only get IEM manufacturers to list the bloody diameter of the nozzle stem too. I get really annoyed reading the mistranslated rambling from some lovestruck, teenage wannabe poet in the marketing department. What I want to know is will it actually fit in a human ear (mine specifically) and will the tips I have fit properly. It's like buying a bin liner and opening up to use it and discovering that you have been sold a condom (or vice versa). Sometimes fit is important!

Rant mode off, need coffee! :confounded::coffee:

Not unlikely. T300 is smaller than T200...

Agreed.

Except for T100 size nozzles which are easy to see by eye (westone, shure, etymotic). Otherwise its a guessing game unless someone else tells you what tips fit their IEM.

That's the reason I take a look at Hifigo. They often measure and put a picture of the IEM diameter. If not, we need to create support tickets to manufacturer or distributors.

TIN P1 PLUS.

what is the best recomend Eartips for P1 Plus ?
from yr experience...

esp can make soundstage more 3d holograph presence

I don't have T1 Plus, but try a eartip that is wide bore or shallow insertion, those generally will increase soundstage. The other side of the coin is that these type of wide bore tips/shallow insertion may lead to poorer isolation and increase the treble frequencies.

My go-to eartip for this is the Tenmark Whirlwind.

Moondrop Spring tips were my only tips i used last 3 months and i'm not going back to any other.
Relatively thin and soft, slightly sticky to help with the grip, all this results with comfort and low pressure on ear canal even after hours of use.
They don't degrade like Xelastecs.
Sound-wise, having a wide bore, they maintain natural treble and low-end extension with microdetails and tactility.
Coming after Azla sedna earfit (black) these have huge improvement on comfort during long sessions with no sound compromise.

Tried too many tips according to the recommendations from this thread, unforatunately majority of them do not work for me. I will try only buy from amazon so that I can return if they do not work.

Heard so much good feedback on those i must finally get a few. Those are the ones that come with the Chu IEM, right?

They come with Chu but only S,M,L and they are smaller than most tips. If you normally take large size tips, you usually need to get their XL size. They also seal really well, TOO WELL for some DDs with driver flex.
