To me the HSR-1000 are the best sounding headphone in their price range.
I would think if Sony printed their name on them they would easily sell for over $100.

You might want to take a look at the ATH-M50s. The sound quality and bass are excellent for its price range. If I remember correctly, soundprofessionals sells them for around $100.
