I'm considering buying a new pair of headphones but am not sure what to go with. I'm aiming for $100-200. I want closed back but noise canceling isn't necessary.  I listen to mostly electronic music, especially dubstep so something with good powerful bass is best.  Durability has been a problem for me in the past so a metal construction would be nice.  I'm not that knowledgable in the sound quality department so opinions on headphones based on that would be appreciated.  Thanks.

If you're going to shop on Ebay or Amazon you could get Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro's for under 200. They have adjustable bass ports and are primarily made of hard plastic cups and a all metal head band. They would probably be pretty appropriate for you.

Ultrasone HFI-580 is also another good headphone for dubstep, strong bass, sturdy construction

i say take a look at the beyerdynamic line, i have the beyerdynamic dt990 pro 250ohm, it sounds pretty good for under 200 bucks imo and has good build. however, its open so it wont fit your need but you should take a look at their lineup.

Not to thread bash but hasn't this same question been asked 1,000,000,000x??

Research, asking this question will get you a few replies but nothing that will justify a purchase. Some good places to start are headphone.com and search around here narrow yor choices down, from
There go with what you feel is best, there are a ton of cans in your price range..

what would be your opinions on ath m50's or v-moda crossfade lp's compared to these headphones?  good sound or just gimmicky stylish headphones?

m80> by a little bit m50 and m50 > LP by a little bit by my own preferences.

I don't know about the XB700 for $200, at that price I would go for the other choices mention earlier.

I own the XB700 and like them, but not for $200.
