Hey, I am currently using the cheap Pioneer SE-M390 and I'm very disappointed of them.
The bass is ok and it goes pretty low but it sounds "dead" and slow, the mids are arlight I guess and the highs are too bright for my taste. I think it's time for me to go to the next level.
I initially wanted to get the Sennheiser HD598 because I was attracted by their big soundstage but I read some reviews and noticed some people say the bass is weak and they sound cold and fragile. Then I was interested in the Beyerdynamic DT990 or DT770 but again changed my mind after reading some reviews on this site.
I am looking for a pair of headphones that have a very very deep, dynamic bass similar to a subwoofer, more deeper than punchier... neutral, detailed mids and good highs and a medium-large soundstage.
I listen to almost all types of music: electronica, metal, pop, classical, jazz, ambient, anything really.
