I have a large head and normal sized ears, so I think the clamping may have been partly the issue for me. Headphones like the ATH AD700s and the Beyerdynamics are what I would call extremely comfortable. Again though, the sound is quite nice from the M50s. I wouldn't discourage anyone from getting them...just a warning to jug-heads like myself.
