True. For the L3000, I mainly use an iPod

Best? Who knows? Is it a day of the week with an "R" in it? That affects things.

That said, the headphone I listen to most is the Sony R10.

For me, it was the K1000 that I heard at the Saratoga meet.

But currently my favorite can is the SR325i.

I've heard an RS-1 before, but maybe if I could hear it in non-meet conditions that might just tip me over to get that...

I haven't heard that many but I'd defo have to pick the RS-1's. They aren't going anywhere for a long, long time

RSA B-52 ---> KSC35 @ ~130ohms (I am pretty sure that was the epitomy of kossetry.)

Ancient Marantz "Stereophonic Reciever" ---> k501 (I felt like I had old peoples' ears for a moment.)

LDII+ --->YUIN Pk1 (Sounds so right, yet presented so wrong.)

pv2^maxed--->HD580 ('s why I bought it after just one audition!)

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the UE10 yet. I think they're the best resolution I've heard. Imaging isn't so good with IEMs in my experience. Balanced 650 or 701 is pretty much a toss-up in my book; I think they're better than the Orpheus when driven by a Max Balanced. Single-ended dynamic I'd say the R-10 is the best I've heard, I'd love to hear them balanced. The R-10 is the one headphone I wish I had.

toss up between balanced hd600 and some grado's at the ny meet. i was too immersed in the music i didn't even look at what model it was. it was in the back corner with the electrostats and the bowl pads. the sound was just too mesmerizing.
