what a beautiful album.. one of my all time favorites. I like their newer stuff too, but being the huge shoegazer fan that I am, YERSELF IS STEAM is just an amazing album. It could have come from no other time than the early 90's. Along with the Lip's TRANSMISSIONS FROM THE SATELLITE HEART and MBV's LOVELESS, they defined an era.

or maybe I was just high.

tripping daisy - jesus hits like the atom bomb. anyone who loves the lips should enjoy it.. its bloody amazing.
deerhoof - reveille is worth a mention too.. totally ****ed up and only makes sense when a bit toasted.

Spiritualized, MBV, cocteau twins, funki porcini, doors, floyd all good suggestions...
orbital, beatles, low, mogwai and logh are all great too.

Oh yea...beyond listening to music, the best TV program for anyone who's high is definitely 120 Minutes...especially those Sundays where that have someone like Sigur Ros on...trippy ass ****.

Pink floyd piper at the gates of dawn alot of their early stuff is very pyschedelic (sp?) Also black sabbath sounds very heavy and is good when your stoned. Flying high again by ozzy osbourne is preety awesome as well.

Anybody whos heard bike by pink floyd knows that syd barrett was not in the right frame of mind lol.

Can't believe nobody's mention the Airplane. Surealistic Pillow, Volunteers, etc.

Country Joe & the Fish; Not So Sweet Martha Loraine.

One that I'm sure he wishes a few of us would forget; First Edition featuring Kenny Rogers, Just Dropped In. Yeah that Kenny Rogers.

I guess I'm old.

Pink Floyd - Just about anything (Piper at the Gates of Dawn is highly recommended)

FYI - I picked up the latest issue of the Brit mag Uncut recently. It has a mix CD of psychadelic cuts...very nice.

I dug the list.  Of the ones I knew on it - spot on - would have made my list as well.  I'll add "Hocus Pocus" by Focus, and Ina Gada Davida by Iron Butterfly (please forgive my spelling - it's been a long time since I've seen that album.

Alice in Chains - Dirt

Not trippy but most definitely drug related.  It's a scary look into heroin addiction.  The follow-up "Jar of Flies" is the brilliant follow up about the struggle of recovery.
