When you think about it, it's impossible to hear "Psychedelic Pill" without tubes, because tube distortion is the very essence of Neil's guitar tone. The only question is whether you want to add more tubes on top of the tubes Neil's already using.

I totally agree. That texture and fuzzines is always there, but tubes certainly do exaggerate it. It's a beautiful album, the tones are rich and lush, and all of it is intensely emotional. I can't get enough of it.
