Not before enlargement. After. You're confusing cause and effect.
Man, I always thought the effect was because of the ailment!

Leo, hopefully we do not kill you but instead provide you with a little entertainment from time to time and on the very rare occasion some good taste in music!

Firtz Wunderlich for me is the best, shame about his untimely passing

I think very few people could disagree with you - she has the most sweet natural tone I have ever heard!
Incredible match -- her voice and her appearance. Few do it like her. Makes Callas and others seem droll.
No she doesn't. Compare this video

Garanca is a great singer singing Carmen, very effectively, with perfect technique. And she is easy in the eye too...
Callas IS Carmen. She transforms herself, before our very eyes and ears into a luscious, passionate female, dangerous and irresistible at the same time. When Garanca sings "regarde a toi" it is a beautiful verse, when Callas sings it, you really think you need to be careful, because this woman can make you lose your head. True, it is not music for relaxation, no one has ever listened to this CD before going to bed. But great art, truly great Art, is not easy, nor is it meant for relaxation.

I agree - I always find it safer to like all women equally but at the same time fear them equally!!!
I have received too many bruises over the years that have yet to heal - not to mention the psychological scars!

I miss Pavarotti. Although he was too much of a populist later in his career, his early years with Decca are still gems in my book.

Opera is rarely taken too seriously around my household. But I empathize with your observations re. the female temperament.
However, I would not recommend "liking all women equally" in the presence of Her Lightness....

That's why it's called the digital divide.

Your post made me realize something.
Hearing is different, experientially, from seeing + hearing. I've only heard Callas do Carmen, I've never SEEN her do Carmen. After that video, I must concur. Callas IS Carmen. But for auditory pleasure, not so much theatrical authenticity, I shall take Garanca anyday. Her performance of Carmen, for lack of a reference for me, with Alagna in Vienna in 2013, was excellent nonetheless. Perhaps not as "real" as Callas, but still memorable.

Similar experiences have taught me to fear the fearful talons masked by the velvety paws!
