Best classical recordings...ever!

Just got Andras Schiff with Miklos Perenyi complete Beethoven violin and cello recordings with ECM New Series (from 2004).

So far, I've listened in the car and on the home stereo, and am planning to hook up the headphone system soon. Sound quality is amazing, as expected. Playing is very good with a good balance in sound volume and spacing between the cello and piano, and the music is of course amazing. Not very good adjectives, but hopefully I'll be able to say more after a closer listen.

I just bought Perenyi's complete Kodaly cello music. So far so good.

Been listening to lipatti a lot of late, would have been great if we had a recording of him playing the d960

I hear Joyce Hatto did a great job.

You mean her husband did a great job

Annie Fischer's 960 is excellent, on par with Kempff's. Brooding, lyrical, and driving.

I will buy it. I checked I only seem to have her schumann and beethoven, something that needs to change asap.

What do y'all think of Lupu's 960? It's one of those discs in my backlog that I need to get to.

If I can recommend some boring-***** music, I was rocking out good to this one yesterday:

boring lol

I really like Lupu's playing especially his schubert, but I would like to hear him add some diversity into his repertoire.
